The same will happen in NYC....

rut roh. . .here it starts.

Just remember as the fur flies. . .this is the Tiki Bar -> not the holding tank.

Yep this is headed there.

Love that fact that the white house is messing with the states again.

I thought you would be interested in the following story on WSJ.com.

that is an interesting second paragraph. It almost reads like an Ad!

Love what the Wisconson Governor told the Pres, Where is your balanced budget?.

according to reports, some of the affected union teachers took their students (who had no clue why they were there) to the protests in Madison to increase the #'s there...

cute. Your tax dollars at work!

Can we just put this in the "Holding Tank" now?

I was just ready to unload. :smt043

They will when you do unload.....

Ever take away a baby bottle from a baby? Or candy from a 2 year old? This is just silly. I have cut the fat from my budget. I am self employed with no pension and no health bennies. You don't here me whine. Oh wait I forgot, I'm a rich fat cat that needs to be punished for owning a buisness.

After watching this great country slowly fall into socialism and lose its way for the last 50 years, I think the pendulum has begun to swing back.....Today was a great beginning of fun times to come as we are reborn.....After all these years, still optimism left.....

yep...me too

What is going on is that 14 Democratic State Senators are on the run trying to postpone a vote on this new piece of legislation. Last I heard most of them were holed up in a Best Western hotel in Illinois somewhere. That is pretty darn sad if you ask me.

Can you believe this new legislation requires teachers and most other state workers to actually contribute some of their own pay to towards their pension and health care coverage just like private sector employees.

What a travesty. :wow:

WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD

It shows there is hope still. How do you know if your house has termites, and you treat it, that it was effective? They swarm for a bit, but eventually go away!

What I really like about this thread is how many of you simply make up stuff then post it as fact then all agree with yourselves.

Yes, my wife is a public school teacher in Wisconsin.

Let me ask you this. How much do you feel a teacher should make?

She is 20 years in, has her masters in computers, got her masters with a perfect 4.0, that means straight A’s. She has received teaching awards that were nominated by her peers.

I am sorry some people on this thread are having difficulties. There are plenty of unemployed teachers as well.

Are you mad at all people who make more then you? So are well all mad at Bill Gates? How about our fellow forum member Four Suns whose former company developed web based program updating and is now a multi multi millionaire? Do we all now hate him because he has more money than us?

Just so you have some history here, you are right, private business has been cutting benefits and paying more. Insurance in particular has going up faster than inflation. Is that the teachers fault?

What would be wrong is if the total compensation package for teaches went up disproportionately. It hasn’t.
