Looking at the 03' 320 Dancer. What do you guys think?

If the boat is in Lindhurst it is a salt walter boat. You definately need to have a survey and if you are going to a lake with it you will need to get a handle on grey water system. Converting will cost you some money. I would guess $2000,.00 +- Don't be affraid of that though I have done it. We love our 320 ! My guess is that you can have her for 10 - 15 k less than what is being asked. Survey both the mchanicals and the the boat !

I spent the better part of a year looking for a good boat, and after paying for several surveys I learned alot about 32 and 34. My advice to you is go see the boat. Find as much history on it as you can, like who owned it, was it in salt, and talk to the origional owner. Hire your own surveyor, and ask for compression check. My new 32 is a great boat and so far we love it, but we looked at several others that on the surface looked good but had problems. If it cecks out ok they are great boats.

Thanks guys! I've ditched the NY boat. I posted a few post up that I have a deposit on an 04 here on my home lake. One owner and freshwater only. 170 hrs. I feel like they are trying to sell me a higher interest rate than I can get

I have 6.4 on mine. check out boat us or intercosta finance

Congratulations on finding a boat you like. Good luck with the boat.

GET IT! if it's the right price. If you do welcome to the 320DA group! I love my boat and the wife does too but someone else has a bigger one so...

Financing is squared away! Took the boat out for a sea trial today and everything went well. Engines run great! Survey on Tuesday and hopefully closing on Wednesday:smt038 Proud owner of a new to me 2004 320!

That is great - the 320 is a great boat. Post some pics.

And the two flaws would be? Let me guess....

1. The forward berth is too small for a big strapping man.

2. The 350's should be 8.1's?

Or is #2 the engine compartment is real small?

I'll post pics as soon as I take delivery! The forward berth is fine for me. I'm under 6'. Anything is better than the bed/dinner table on our 250 now!

You will love it! I am 6' 3" and don't have much problem sleeping up there. After I replace the mattress with a memory foam one I'll be in heaven!

Congrats!! If you don't mind so I have an idea of what the market is right now, what was the final price you were able to negotiate?

As for the flaws, I put a nice 4" memory foam topper (I cut it to shape with an electric carving knife) on the mattress and at 6'2" now am very comfortable sleeping on board.

The engine compartment being very tough to work in is one for me... Some good things to have on hand- a moving blanket to spread out on top of the engines so you can lay across them as you go to reach for the genny or any of the seacocks that are put in such crazy places that you can't reach them otherwise; also a seat cushion or a full chaise lounge cushion is another comfortable way to lay across the engines..

Finally, the boat does ride bow high; a combination of the engines and the weight distribution. I've always thought the trim tabs were not wide enough for this boat; and 4 blade definitely would also be better, but can't get myself to spend that kind of money during these tough economic times.

Good luck with the closing and let's see some photos when you can. Welcome to the 320 club!

C6,
Congrads and welcome to 320 club.

#1 - possible, but since we're not big people it's comfortable enough for me and admiral.

#2 - I disagree. What's the point if the boat is not under powered with 350s and v-drive? The hole shut is fine and you're still cruising at 25-27mph. It's not like there's much room to spare in the ER.

As for ER being too small...it not too bad and manageable, but sure would be nice if it would be slightly larger. Learning where to place your feet and just position yourself for a task is the key.

Congrats on your slightly used 320. I take it you decided to to broker your old boat so good luck with that. I suggest you get the maintenance records for the boat to see want you have to do. In my case the PO never serviced the generator.

Awesome choice! Welcome to the 320 club and most of all to the SeaRay Family.

#1 certainly correct.

#2 - I didn't think the mid-cabin berth was long enough either

#3 8.1's would be nice, but I would have settled for a 4 bladed prop. But we'll add that to the list of flaws none the less.

So three flaws total, on an otherwise fine boat.

I agree on the mid cabin. The 2000 310DA we looked at had more room there. I would love to install 4-blade props but I have better things to spend that money on, maybe in a year or so.

I ran her yesterday with 6 people on board and 50% fuel. I sure can get the bow down at 4000 RPM's! The bad thing is I don't want to pay for the fuel at 4000 RPM's. :smt009

I would be up for customizing the trim tabs to make them bigger next haul out. I saw a post on CSR where someone did that. It is probably a better bet than trying to replace with larger ones.

I actually worked my trade into the deal. The broker wanted my boat. Said a 250 Crownline with a genset would sell easy in my area!
