i lived in the middle east at the time of the first gulf war, with my wife and 4 little kids - just across the shaat al arab waterway from the bad guys. you want to know how come we could sleep at night? i'll tell you: because the "biggest guy in the playground" looked after us all. i love the USA.

I'm going to paraphrase a line from my favorite movie...

"How dare you sleep under the blanket of security that we provide, then question the manner in which we provide it."

Just so you know, Obama will allow that blanket to wither away, leaving you cold, tired and hungry. You like him so much you can have him. There are a half dozen others we'll throw in free of charge.

What's up with the Kevin bashing? The guy was expressing gratitude to our country and the men and women who put themselves on the line for us, and the rest of the world.

Give the guy a break.....he's a boater after all. Being a boater neutralizes your political views. We're all on the same team while on our boats.

I am a recovering news, Drudge, Rush, Hannity, Fox News junkie. I was crabby, cynical and opinionated all the time. I would pick an argument at the drop of a hat and I was always looking for liberal agendas in everything. What a waste of time....life is too short and all of the things that I referenced above are just entertainment outlets looking for ratings and advertising dollars.

Not saying that I went liberal or Democrat, far from it....I'm just saying that I am much happier now and I really don't give two craps about any "agendas"....that's why I took up boating. I can get away from all that crap. And that was the basis for my comment that you quoted....get out on your boat, take a breathe, have fun and let everyone else worry about it for awhile. The world won't end if you take a break from politics and Fox News for a few hours.

NO; I am not an Obama fan. I think he is letting Pelosi and Reid walk all over him. That is bad. Is he the worst we had? Pfft. Too soon to tell. Everyone thought George was really good for a good long time. Then look what happened.

Are the Republicans the answer? Hardly. All I see there is a bunch of posturing -> and a knee jerk obstructionism. Not even a wiff of leadership on that side of the aisle right now.

Reminds you of JFK. You have to be kidding! I don't know how old you are, but I was around during JFK's time. Obama would call him a "Right Wing Extremist". Remember "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country".

JFK made one of the largest income tax cuts until the tax cuts of the 1980s. Today's democrats would be apoplectic!

I agree to a point. Kevin seems like a good guy, maybe a little misguided, but I blame the liberal media for that. As some of you know, I fly (before the whole hip thing) around the world for a large package company, and it is really eye opening to watch television over seas. There is nothing in the news but US bashing, and while I can not speak too much about what they say recently, even back in Feb. (my last trip) the media was GA GA over Obama, and bashed Bush 24/7. I can not remember ever hearing a good thing about Bush in all my travels, but there was plenty of love for obama.

My wife was in europe a few years ago. Received a terrible reaction from the people. Was told that was because of Bush. She didn't get the same negative reaction this year. People are nuts.

Does one really believe all of these folks like Obama that much? I for one do not believe it for a minute, they are after what they can get. Under Bush they knew this would not work, and no I was not an ardent Bush fan.

Here is what is about to happen, unused TARP funding in the latter two years, more promises to the elderly about a God awful health care plan, and pandering to the schools, universities and unions. Amnesty for the Illegal aliens to include granting voting rights.(I find this ironic so many are in school, but yet so ignorant) a new media mantra created, "More change" and the ignorant will re-elected by the ignorant .

You know, when the rest of the world bashes our President, I like it. It shows that he is doing his job looking out for our best interests. When they like our President, it is precisely because they know that they will be able to walk all over him (and us).

Which brings up a good point. Apparently, it was just fine that the folks in attendance Booed and bagered President Bush during the inaugeration. The press loved it. But when a congessman Wilson called out "you lie!" (an honest assessment) he is tarred and feathered, called a racist, and threatened with censorship. HHHHMMMMMM......very interesting.

oh scott - that doesnt bear comparison. the congressman is bound by a code of behaviour (same as iraqi journalists...). we cant lose that or the system turns into a zoo. of course he had to be censured. you cant conduct state business behaving like that. the iraqi journalist got a year in jail for throwing his shoes (quite rightly in my opinion). your man got his wrists slapped. (also quite right in my opinion).

its these sorts of rules and codes that keep us civilised.

He is destroying capitalism, wiping his ass with our constitution, and putting socialists and communist in positions of power without congressional oversight.
