Ozark Missouri
I was just wanting to see some of the lakes, or waters you guys and gals boat on. I have never boated anywhere but on table rock and bull shoals. I will get some better pics the next time we are out. Also was wondering what the average depth was where you boat.

I boat on the Columbia River, usually just above McNary dam. Normal water depth is 40 to 80 feet. There are a few sandy beaches, and they can be difficult with the 270DA. Its pretty common for the beach to drop quickly to 30-40 feet. There are some shallow areas, but often they are too shallow for the 270. So normally I either put the bow gently in the sand of the beach, and carry and anchor up on the beach and set it, or I drop one anchor off the stern in 40 feet of water, and have the other anchor on the beach, normally out of the water.

I don't have any pictures ready to post, I am slow at being able to post them. But there are six pictures I took when in Victoria, BC, two summers ago. They are on this thread.

I boat out of Weymouth Massachusetts which is a short ride to Boston Harbor. I can go north or south from here. Cape Cod is reachable 2 hours south. Salem is one hour north. Lots of cool places in between. I mostly am on the hook around all the islands you see in the google earth picture.

We boat in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay. Average Water Depth 20'-50
Lots of Rivers that feed into the bay, so there are endless area's to explore

Why is this in the Holding Tank area

That is where it was started. This is not the holding tank like you are thinking about on SRO. This is more or less for postings that either do not fit any where else or are non-boating related. Don't go blaming me on this one Chuck

Where else would it go? I figured this would be the spot No one would ask why it was here.

My thought would be
Sea Ray Lifestyle & Cruising
General Sea Ray discussion. Chat with fellow Sea Ray owners about cruising destinations and more

I boat only on Lake Ozark, which I'm sure you are familiar with. I have also boated on the Mississippi, Lake Shelbyville in central IL and Kincaid in Southern Illinois. Shelbyville is a Corp lake that is about 11,000 acres. Kincaid is a small corp lake, only about 2700 acres. Lake Ozark is private lake, about 57,000 acres, 92 miles from start to finish with about 1150 miles of shoreline. Oh, and the Mississippi is a real long river that runs from the north to the south through the middle of the USA.

I am familiar with lake of the ozarks. I look at several claims in that area, and have been to the port arrowhead there. I went to the horney toad once or twice as well.

About every other year, we trailer our boat to Canada and run the Rideau Canal. It is a 125 mile run from Kingston, Ontario to Ottawa, Ontario. We usually spend 4 -6 weeks on the system which consists of two rivers, numerous lakes, several miles of canals and 43 locks. The boat is our home for the entire time. One year, we extended the trip by continuing from Ottowa. We picked up the Ottowa River and traveled to Old Port Montreal and afterward headed up the St Lawerance Seaway, thru the thousand Islands and back to Kingston. In all, it was about a 450 mile trip. Lots of fun
Here is a link to some pix of the Rideau, if you are interested.

Lake Ontario

On weekends, we boat right downtown Toronto. It is a blast with a huge commercial harbour, great restaurants, more than 10 clubs/marinas, Major League Baseball...

Happy to email info and pics.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is that guy trying to do with the rope?
He's trying to hit the dock with it... this is at the annual workboat docking contest at "Waterman's Day" in Rock Hall. They pull the boat out of a shoot and then have to back it between the poles and hit the dock with the rope. Fastest guy wins. It is a transmission crunching (and some times transom crushing) good time. You should check it out if you get the chance!

You look too close for comfort! How far away were you when you took the photo?
My sister took it and she was sitting right on the dock. It is a dangerous spot, but anything for the shot I guess!
