It amazes me that kids will go for virtual reality over, well, reality!
If you visit the Costco website for that it's wrong in a very important way: "With LESS than a 1” profile*, 19” VM190XVT Razor LED™ LCD HDTV offers full 1080p High Definition resolution for crystal clear images, brilliant color, rich detail and deep contrast"
The VM190VXT only supports 720p, no 1080 resolutions at all. You can also see this by the resolution listed. Many people are fine with that, especially on a 19" tv (there are no 1080 19's that I've seen)... just an FYI.
Insignia panels are rumored to be made by Samsung, which would make them a great deal. Probably the only people who discount them/Vizio are people who paid big bucks for the same panels.
We have a 63" Samsung that's a month old, two Vizio's (32" 1080p and a 26" 720p), and a 19" Samsung. Have had good luck with all. The 1080p Vizio has an AMAZING picture for the price. Don't discount a brand just because of what you've heard, or what you think. My next TV will be a Favi.
I just intalled a 22in LED Insignia that is 1080P in my salon today. They have 22" lcd that is 720P, but the LED is 1080P.
I was replacing a 19in lcd and the 22" LED really didn't take up that much more room and was a lot lighter. The sound is not that great since the speakers are in the back as a previous poster stated. I'll need to address that next week. Overall, I am happy with the picture quality.
Thanks for the info. I did compare the specs and the width difference is less than 3" but that actually may not work in my case. I have a 480 with the same master stateroom set up as Gary and was supposed to change out this TV a few weeks ago but the economy must be recovering. The guy that was going to do it asked if I could wait until next Winter because he is swamped! He was thinking about building a new door that would hide the TV to give it a factory look and if he does that I couldn't go any wider than a 19". I went to Best Buy to look at the 19" Insignia LED and couldn't find it. When I asked about it they told me they were hiding them until they sold a bunch of non LED's they had! I did look at the 22" and the picture looked great.
Gary how is the 19" holding up? Seems the 22" doesn't have the external transformer...and has the plug ins on the back. So 19" should fit the bill for me!
Take a look at this link.
I know I would be better off with an Inverter and wiring it that way. How big of an inverter would that 19" TV require?
Here ya go Gary
Think the "Black Tie" protection plan for 24.99 is worth it?
You had better get that thing replaced quickly! How can you even stand to watch! Sheesh!
Like I have room to talk. I still have a 42" 480P plasma set in my living room. Looks fine to me, though clearly if it ever dies I'll replace it with higher resolution. But still...
