Lake Wylie

Let me check the calendar and we will throw out a couple dates to see if it works for everyone!!!

Are you guys planning to go to the slightly deeper part of the South Sandbar (Center/Center Right of cove) or the shallow part? I think it is going to be hard to get everyone together in the shallow area near where the volleyball net is/was/is/was and allow people to come and go at their convinence. A good alternate location may be at the end of Big Allison or even by the island at the north end of the lake just past the North sandbar.

Jason - depending on the number that show up I was thinking behind the island after S New Hope Rd Bridge (279?) but I would trust you guys...I know Dave always knows where the warm water is....

Wes, I don't recall there being an island back there but I think you are talking about just past Harbor Town Marina? The water will be warmer up there due to the Steam plant that dumps water in to that creek. Water temp was 79 last weekend. Didn't think to check it last night. By July 20, we may not want to be near the steam plant though due to the water temps. I will post a google pic of the spot I was referring to. It is shown as a Red dot. I am fine with either place though.

There is a small one directly south of the botanical gardens in your map that we always anchor out (very quiet back there)...but we would be happy to try new spots...

Wes, that was my favorite island to anchor to. Nice cove behind the island and a small sand beach too. It's nice to set up a grill on the island, and be able to walk around. At one time a boyscout troop or some group built a trash recptable and bench seats. with fire pit.

I have seen the island completly underwater! Looked weird. That would be a great spot for a raft up.
Seems I remember Lake Wylie Marina having a raft up there also.

I think that is where they had the first aquapolozza; that is when we started going there and have been going back ever since. -- Wesley
