That's got to be one of the most diverse tastes in beer right there. To go from Two Hearted to High Life...that takes a real pro :)

I’ve been known to mix in a Miller Lite or Coors light on occasion. Two Hearted is my “I’m not captaining anymore” beer.

Hope you have a great time. The weather has been a little unsettled rain wise, but little wind. Left Bayfield this morning, we are about 1/2 way to Isle Royale as I tap this out, can’t believe I have a cell signal out here. Lake is like a mirror. You boat in a great area! We loved the Apostles.

BEAUTIFUL!! Love it when it's glass like that. Are you anchoring off of Isle Royal?

(those ore boats move don't they?)

Yes, plan on spending 8-10 days there. I had to give a rough itinerary to the NPS for the boat permit so I picked out 1 anchorage in each of the 4 quadrants of the island. Nothing’s etched in stone, it’s preliminary. At the end of the trip I pencil in where we actually stayed and for how long and mail it back to the parks service.
Hopefully won’t be too long, admiral says we’re not leaving until she sees a moose and hears a wolf howl. :)

Lake Superior is never that calm when I go up there. Last friday the wind was coming out of the west at 30mpg. We had to tuck into Julian bay until Saturday morning when the wind finally died down. It’s been my dream to spend a week cruising around Isle Royal.

You guys sure know how to put some miles on that boat! When did you leave Erie?

Mark,
If you look at my profile pic, it looks like I have the same ore ship in the distant background. Same pilothouse profile. LOL!!

I'm anchored off of Sand Island in that photo.

Yes, a week ago last Friday, blew hard. We were in Marquette, securely tied to a dock and sampling some beers at Blackrocks and The Ore Dock.
When we went past Stockton Island this morning, Julian was so flat that the 3 sailboats anchored there were all pointing in different directions.

June 6th. We blew through Lake Erie in one day, been there. Fog on Huron slowed us a little, wanted to get up here fast, got to the Soo a week after we left.
Now we’ve slowed down. Cocktail cruising and 2-3 days in each town we visit, except we just spent 5 days in Bayfield and the Apostles, couldn’t fit it in in less.

LOL, I’ll have to let the admiral decide, she’s the freighter guru.
She loved watching the ships go by when we were in the Soo.
Enjoy your vacation!

Awesome, we’re jealous. Someday! For now it’s Ontario for us, can only keep the 3 year old occupied for so long :)
