Keep Track of Rising Prices

Just filled my truck up. 3.69/gallon for regular (89 octane maybe?). 24 gallons. Luckily I had 1.90 off in fuel perks from the local grocery store. Luckily a pound of ground beef used to be $1/lb but is now $99/lb so one stop at the store and I save $20 in gas....lol

But seriously...the gas thing is true. But yeah, a pack of ground beef that used to be $7 is now about $13. Thanks Brandon. Speaking of...my wife is a teacher. See help wanted signs everywhere yet her students keep telling her they can't get hired anywhere. My theory is that maybe since McD's now has to pay $14/hour for a burger flipper that management is not hiring young inexperienced workers? Thoughts on that? Just guessing here but sounds plausible. So all these young kids crying for $15/hour may have pushed themselves right out of the market if that is the case.

Yea - here’s a thought.

Wait till fertilizer industry gets hit w energy costs. Food production will plummet. Truckers will be idle. Farmers will cut production by 40%-60%.

Can you spell riots?

Absolutely. I have a handful of low wage jobs. Basically, show up, do your job, and that’s all we expect from you. Moms like it cause I am flexible with them and they can start early and be home when the kids get let out of school. But we are being forced to move to $15/hr. Well at that rate, I need more. I’ll need you to be able to setup and adjust equipment. Move 50 lbs. Operate electronic data keeping. Etc.

Just filled my truck tonight. 3.69/gallon. Thanks Brandon!

Ya’ll better fill up every vehicle and container you own.

My wife paid $6.69/lb for ground beef 80/20 yesterday....

Taking dog to the vet this morning. Fixing to fill up the truck while I'm out. $3.19 last night. Not sure what it'll be next week....

Not sure if there's an Aldi near you, but I just topped off our deep freezer with $4.99 80/20 and $1.99 boneless skinless chicken breast.

I bought 1/2 beef for 2.15$ per pound hanging weight plus processing from my son-in law last month, wish I would have bought a whole now

I'll have to check that out, we have one less than a mile from the new house

I like aldi's. It has lower prices and operates like a Trader Joe's without the emphasis on "organic". While they have brand name stuff they mix in their own private label to keep prices lower.

Aldi is Trader Joe’s, same company…
No, not the same company. Two different companies now - came from the same family. Each owned by a brother. Aldi does own Trader Joe's, but it is not the Aldi chain familiar to North American shoppers. Trader Joe's is owned by Aldi Nord, which was formed when the two brothers who founded the Albrecht Discount chain in Germany parted ways. Aldi Sud oversees Aldi US operations.

I stand corrected. Heard that for years.
