Keep Track of Rising Prices

So who has all that money? Covid benefits were generous but not so generous as to allow someone to pay a 30% mark up on a car. Or bid up house prices. And they have been over for a while now. Does the average schmuck on the street have all this extra cash that I can’t find a boat?

Some were winners in the money printing lottery, others losers…

Dunno but seems everything is up at least 10-20% so thinking that 7% is a little low. Could be due to data lag but either way 7% seems awfully low. Let's go Brandon!

There seems to plenty of people with dollars. Mecum Kissimmee car auction totalled $217 million last week. No one was forced to buy anything there. Pretty sure covid bennies didn't fund the buyers. Virtually every 2020 Mustang GT500 was sold for sticker plus $15,000 and most of that was pre-covid. Want a 2022 GT500? Still way over sticker.

I've gone through high inflation in the past. Also had a mortgage back in the 70's or early 80's when getting one for 7-10% was good. We had to tighten the ole belt a few times over the years and skimp to get by. This could be the first time for some to experience this.

We've gone quite a while with very low inflation. Not saying what's happening right now is good but it was gonna happen at some point.

My Aunts rent at assisted living just got another 6% bump effective 2/1. That's after a 46% bump in October. Total increase since July of '20 113%. They got folks over the barrel and are milking it.

Don't worry...if you watched Biden the other day he's got everything under control, he's even going to make sure you can get hamburger, although he didn't say how often.

I am guessing their employee costs have gone thru the roof.

That should be a crime. My gut makes me feel like slashing the tires of the owners car…over and over again. That pusses me off. Taking advantage of elderly is evil.

  • My stocks are down 10%. I was planning to sell some profits to pay cash for the boat I am under contract on..oh well.
  • Grocery stores shelves are empty.
  • Inflation continues.
  • I doubled my budget to buy the next boat.
  • Ukraine is about to be invaded.
  • COVID continues.

Biden keeps telling us what a great job he is doing...

Just got back from the grocery store. I'm headed to the boat tomorrow, so I wanted to get some gallon jugs of water. Just easier with the larger containers when it is just me on the boat. Care to guess was a gallon of your run of the mill spring water runs now?

$1.50/Gallon.

It was $0.79 last summer.

Beer is the same price…. Sounds like you are buying the wrong beverage…. Especially for a boater

Ha! No this is for coffee, portable ice maker, dog's water bowl.....But I like the way you think.

It's going to be 55 for the high tomorrow at my boat. 68 on Thurs and 52 on Friday. Putting in the new Vesper Cortex VHF radio.

Oil headed through the roof guys.
There is no quick fix either. The rigs are idle, takes 150 guys to run a oil rig, they’re all doing construction now.
There’s no pipe for fracking, no frack sand, no mud. It’s a mess.

Road gas just hit $3.80 today. $80+ to fill up the Jeep. Diesel is $4.00. And the stuff hasn't even hit the fan yet. Get ready.

6 cans of Kirkland Canned chicken: Used to be $9.99....now $13.49.
