Jones Beach Air Show

P1 mudslides (what kinda rum? Remember I block I drank a solid 90 percent of the machine in one day I must refill)
P2 don't care ill b drinking mudslides

If u guys want I can always head out really early sat morning. Ill head out at 5am and b there ny 530 but I don't know how much I can do by myself to hold water open. . But I can certainly try my best. Can we think about the best area to go? Once your in There's really no worries about deep water but were up there with number of boats so Were deff gunna need lots of room. U guys have my number if you would like to discuss.

Greg what time do u expect to arrive?

Does anybody have a guestimate on how many boats we have?

Based on the latest updates this is the list I have:

Air_Show_Participants.jpg

So, we're looking at 12 (from the list of participants), plus 5 on the list of mabies, plus another 5 Greg just mentioned. So, I'd say we're looking at 15 to 20 boats.

Considering that the place will be packed, I think that it would help knowing everyone's ETA, so those who get there earlier know what to expect and hold some room.

What you guys think on best way to block the spot for us? I see two options:

1. Have two end boats drop their bow and stern anchors. If there are 3-4 boats, then the other two can go in the middle, in the same fashion. Otherwise, anchor couple of dinghies in the middle and have big boats set the bounderies (paired up on each side).
2. Just use 2 dinghies to set the bounderies. But, most likely they'll be ignored and you'll have people anchore right next to the dinghies.

Any other ideas?

I will go nice and early and drop anchor one the dingy also. That's a good idea. And I just got an anchor last week for it! Its the little things that make me happy! I'm sure ron will b there and do the same with me we will spread out as Much as I think nobody will come in between and then set the anchors then set the dinks between that? Sound good?

I have a question. If I anchor my big boat and then take the dingy and drop anchor how do I get make to the main ship? . Def not swiimming waters way to cold :smt101

I'll see , maybe we'll sleep on the boat Fri, and I'll shove off early before the crew wake up. This way I can help out

Can we get more locals to commit to an early arrival? Ill probably end up pushing off at sun up . What's everybody's eta?better question what time does the party start? !

For the initial raft, I have 3 boats (including myself) for Friday. I don't have an exact number, but say another 5 for Sat. I'm thinking we are a solid 25 boats total. A handful will be day tripping, and will need to constantly move to the outside...we'll figure that out as we need to.

I'll bring my stern anchor. Its small, a Fortress style up to 24' boat (what I used as a stern for the 280).

I am planning on late friday afternoon as well. We will need to place a few boats to block some rafting space and saturday by 10, the place will start to get crowded. I have 4 or 5 boats that will show up as saturday / sunday as well...

I think it would b a goid idea to tie the day trippers up on one end if the raft and theover nighters on the other? Were gunna have a raft beam of over 250ft lol. U think alex and joe can spin that while still tied? !

Can we at least wait til I finish my coffee? Last time the hot sandwich got on the chilly side.

I am likely going to have some friends joining as well. Maybe up to 5 additional boats. So whoever gets there first, try to pick a clear area and have the flare gun ready in case anyone tries to anchor nearby.

Also I have some important decisions to make:
Pina Coladas and Strawberry Daiquiris or
Mudslides and something else

Do I hear any P1's ?

Sorry, a little behind...

P1 - mudslide
P2 - anything else!

We will be leaving Norwalk around 7 AM for a 10 AM arrival, Sat morning. Looks like we are running solo...

I just checked the tides and looks like we have favorable tides by Sloop Channel Bridge. Does anyone know if there are any unusual obstructions that would affect the vertical clearance?

I'll check if LNMs have anything posted.

Other than "Sloop Channel Daybeacon 16 - STRUCT DEST" I don't see anything official, at this time.
