Jones Beach air Show Memorial Day 2015

I don't see tables on the beach being a problem. The bon fire idea was mostly just a joke but thinking about it there is a group that "lives" at the east entrance to zacks. There's always tents and 2 or 3 boats there and I've seen them with fires going a bunch of times.

We used to Take our cockpit table with the pole and use that on the beach it was handy never blew over

You must be one of those "2-3 that lives at the east entrance to zacks".......LOL

BTW, love your new sig pic.

I say we try to make a "picnic" out of it and dinghy over to shore and set up tables and chairs. I have not seen it from land, but the area near the ruins of the gazebo looking thing may have space for us to set up.

The gazebo def has the space but last time I ventured over there it was filed with rusty metal sticking out of the ground and probably not the safest for kids to be running around at but I'll run over there during the day sometime and take a look.

Sounds like fun. You've got my vote on it. I'm sure we'll have a lot more people interested in participating.

If it is not safe for the kids then I say we setup on the sand at the shore line and have a "Beach Picnic".

Either one is fine work me I think it's an amazing idea. Maybe me and you will go scoop out the area Saturday

Sounds good to me. Gives me a chance to take the dog for a walk.

What time do you plan on getting to Zach's on Friday?
What about you Ron?

My dock mate Joe is one of the people who camp out at the east end of Zachs. I know during the summer they usually stash tables in the brush so they dont have to bring them back and forth. ILL hopefully see him this weekend and get some intel on the logistics. Its a great idea to have a picnic on the beach. In that area we are less likely to get harassed ["in case it's illegal"] as its remote.
Harold,
Not sure of our ETA Friday, but hoping for late afternoon.
One of my buddies is planning on going to the bay Wednesday, securing a pole, and planning on leaving his boat there for the weekend. Given the potential size or our raft, do you guys think that may be a good starting point for a raft up? or more problematic?

I have paisley Friday till 730 so I have to drop her off in freeport drive back to lindenhurst, fire up the mains and I'll b on my way. I'm guns day I'll have the hook in the sand by 845-9.

Ron I don't think a pole will b a good idea. The only poles that are available are in tight quarters and low water . The only pole we can really use is taken by that guy that leaves his boat tied to it all summer. I'm thinking the same exact spot as last year. Deep water room to swing and room to grow the raft.

I am hopefully arriving in late afternoon to early evening.

I also believe we should should try to get near the spot we were last year. I also believe that we should try to prevent any swinging with stern anchors like we did during the flotilla. I am planning to set mine upon arrival.

If you set your stern anchor on Friday and the wind shifts 180* wouldn't you have people tieing up agents the wind? I have a stern anchor just haven't had time to pick up line yet.. I'll be blowing freely

Pmc Is also a Friday night arrival. May be blocking space for another raft, but...we can triangulate...

Got it.

Looks like we will take you up on the offer of the ride out for our friends from your friend. I will bring life jackets for the our friends kids to you on Sunday. We can coordinate contact info Sunday as well. Thanks.

Scoping out for next weekend... Never seen the bay so flat. Just a little foggy, but surreal
