Joke Thread.. post 'em if you got 'em

Skydivers… blah blah blah…. do it at night, no lunar illumination, from 1500 feet with 80lbs of equipment with a chute that can’t be steered, along with 120 other jumpers exiting 3 other aircraft and a mission to complete afterwards…
How about Skydivers… blah blah blah…. do it at night, no lunar illumination, naked at 120 mph in freefall...

Long time ago I owned a twin beech D18. I hauled a group of advanced sky divers on a regular basis. Many said they had hundreds of takeoffs but no airplane landings. Point of pride for them.
I flew a model of the C-130 that had the Fulton Recovery System. We had a Navigator that was picked up with the Fulton system and parachuted out at the end. He was onboard a flight without being on the airplane for the takeoff or the landing.

Been there, done that, got the tee shirt. Only we were 100 pounds (I was a 60 gunner) at 900 feet. The 1/75 guys that jumped into Grenada in '83 didn't even strap on reserves since they knew if there was a malfunction, there would not be enough time for a reserve to deploy. True story....

I’ve heard that same situation in Panama, reserve chutes were optional. From 500 feet no time to pull the reserve with main malfunction.

C-130 probably the most fun aircraft I have ever flown.

Confirmed. I got out in September 1989 and was a freshman in college for the invasion in December, watching on then-new CNN. It was a horrible feeling.....like training for the Superbowl and not being able to participate. OJC (OPERATION JUST CAUSE) in Panama indeed had the same deal....~600 feet, no reserves. I had dozens of friends on that jump....OPERATION ACID GAMBIT (concurrent with OJC), too, the rescue of CIA guy Kurt Muse from the Modelo prison. Made my two Delta buddies Kelly Venden and Pat Savidge famous. Check it out here.

When I got to my assignment in the 82nd (early 1993) there were a few guys in my unit that had the combat jump from Panama. They loved talking about it!

Seriously?? C’mon. Go start your own “my parachute dick is bigger than yours” thread somewhere else. This is the joke thread…
