I like my Sea Ray because................

...at the time of purchase our SR dealer was sold out of canbotes......and I then found out you could put a SR in saltwater (see picture below)......Well every SR except for one particular model owned by one of our moderators :).

Who told you, you could put a SR in saltwater

and to stay on topic I like my Sea Ray because it is mine.

1992 200 BR.
1. Its paid for.
2. Its got more style than many new boats costing 5X as much.
3. Very good "ride".
4. I look good paddling an oar when the outdrive grenades.
5. its a Sea Ray.

I can stand up in the head, unlike the 260 I had. I can cook up anything on the grill at any time.

It fits both of us well and suites the type of boating we like to do, still has the feel of a sport boat in some ways, wife thinks it's sexy looking, I don't have to leave it for anything over a weekend (except for getting the dog to shore to do it's thing) and most of all... It's mine!

It's the coolest, most flexible design, of any 20' deckboat in it's class.
My wife likes it...:smt001
It keeps me from having to spend a day at the public beach with people who should be wearing MUCH larger bathing suits than they are:huh::smt017

Last but not least....I got a cool hat and bumper sticker for buying it!

I love the fact that there is a natural progression in Sea Rays...

I love my current boat, but am currently shopping for a 340...

And I look with the anticipation of a certain board members 460 acrosss from my slip...

And sometimes, when when I see a bridge boat like Gary's, I think that might be the way to go down the line.

I also like that it's paid for!

I love my Sea Ray because she is my lake house, but I get to sleep on the lake. Not 100's of feet from it, in a stuffy lake house.

I love to prop my feet up, sit back on the water and have a glass of wine and good conversation with my husband......sure we could do that at home. But as you all KNOW that it's just not the same.

.....it rocks! She has all of the luxuries of an expensive resort condo, she'll take me anywhere, she's sexy, and she's fast.

To me she's the perfect Sea Ray, perhaps the perfect boat for us considering our wide range of use (two days to two weeks spent on the boat at a time, big but not too big that you can't get into most anchorages & marinas - were not limited, quick so you can get where you need to go - cruises anywhere from 22-31knots, the boat is reasonable cost to run so you never have to double guess going anywhere, fantastic seaworthiness and performance - we don't have to worry about the weather, and it has all of the luxuries & comforts you'd expect of a yacht)

What stands out in particular on the 560 Sedan Bridge to us...

-the air conditioned bridge is fantastic if your into watching storms; if partying is your game the bridge will seat eleven people and there still room for a disco ball & smoke machine

-the front bedroom is huge; two people can change their clothes at the same time

-the doggies have their own private room

-the kitchen is large (two people can cook) and it isn't in the middle of a walkway so you can cook w/o tripping over the dogs

-six people can watch a movie in the Salon in extreme comfort; there's actually seating for as many as twelve people if you want to pile in all your friends for a movie (say a rainy night raftup)

-the third stateroom is like a walk in closet equipped with washer/dryer; great for week long trips

-the bilge is cavernous; tons of room to hide all the stuff you put in the basement at home that really should have been thrown out (maybe this is a bad thing for us)

-the engine room is very well layed out and everything clearly labeled; great for when you want to do maintenace, or great if you just want to sit there and think "when I was younger I would have only dreamed of having two of these engines"

-the aft cockpit is large & comfortable; fantastic when at anchor after grilling two rare pepered ribey steaks and microwaving a bowl of country crock butter mashed potates, while you drink a glass of Malbec as you lok out over the water admiring the beauty of the moons reflection and the stars in the sky

I could keep going and going...I do love my Sea Ray.

For all those reasons minus 16 feet:thumbsup:

In addition, I own her and the wife feels comfortable which makes it all worth it!

It gave my wife and I an additional interest together going out wakeboarding.

As a family, it has provided some awesome weekends whether doing watersports, fishing (only twice now, and that may be enough for me!), or just swimming off the deck or snacking on the sunpad. The kids love it.

Made for new adventures on weekends with friends.

Not sure if the above is brand specific enough, but the quality of the boat ha given us zero issues, just turn the key and go...and that counts for quite a bit IMO.

1) Because she has a head (all be it small)
2) Because she has 300 hp, can out-run many jet skiis and makes your eyes tear up (at 55 mph)
3) Because she can pull your arms out of their sockets while skiiing
4) Because she get's good fuel economy when you are cursing
5) Because she has sexy lines
6) Because she has high quality of fit & finish
7) Because she has a wet bar :)
8) Because she has more deck room than my fathers 35' Carver (boo)
9) Because she has a bravo III that shifts very well
10) Because people tell me 'that is one of the nicest & sexiest 25' boats I have ever seen' (too bad it's only 23'6")

Specific to our Sea Ray: Admiral approved of the purchase after going aboard many other boats during our pre-purchase search, and she's paid for.

More generally, we enjoy our time on the water together, and we've made a number of new friends at our dock.

The 270 Amberjack is a great family boat. Versitile for a cruise, watersports and fishing. They really hit the mark!

Because the admiral likes Sea Rays.

Took me 5 years to convince the admiral we should buy a boat. When she finally agreed, she got aboard a Sea Ray she liked it more than any other boats.

Poor me, I then had to get what she wanted......;-), ;-)

1. It's the best package (design, style and quality) for the money.
2. It makes the summer seasons most enjoyable for the whole family.
3. It helps the family to find common interests and have lots of fun.
4. It’s my summer house with stunning "backyard" and surroundings.
5. It allows me to do what I love, being out there… boating.

#1) It looks better than most boat's. #2) It's built better than most boats.#3) It keeps me busy during the Summer. #4) It keeps me busy during the Winter(CSR) #5) It helps me get rid of all of that nasty extra money I have laying around. #6) Helps me become more social (at the DOCKS ONLY) #7)I enjoy showing off my "Irish tan" #8) I can't afford a "real" Summer home and ....did I mention it helps me get rid of all that extra money I have laying around???

I love the classic sport boat lines on my boat. Many newer boats of competing brands just do not look traditional enough for me. Also, I love my yellow hull. I'm on my second yellow-hulled Sea Ray.

Frank C's signature quote from Kenneth Grahame says it all...

There is nothing absolutely nothing half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.
