Any of you guys also following this? The BBC has a nice running update going. It certainly sounds like the occupants of the sub are still alive based on the sounds they were picking up overnight.

I hope they find 'em. What a movie this is going to make someday.

Ya positive news on the noise but they are out of air…. Hoping this has a good ending.

but come on …….. you’re in a tiny sub going down 3 miles to look at a sunk ship in a sub designed to go down 6 miles…… How did that work out?….. I don’t see the risk reward at all

Though the search efforts "yielded negative results," the USCG said the operation continues.

Plus, you're viewing on a monitor. I'll do that from my couch, thank you.

Plus, even if they could get to the surface, they can't get out. WTF. It's a bad deal all the way around.

The thing is there is a ton of unmanned drones that have been down there filming the ship with great clarity. Why spend $250k to see for yourself….. risk reward …..these guys should be smarter then that

Can you imagine if they are bobbing on the surface someplace, looking out that porthole at blue sky, but running out of air?

I'm not particularly claustrophobic...but hearing the crew bolt you inside that thing, knowing you can't get out without them unbolting it...I think that would probably be a bit too much for me.

More money than brains.

I am in disbelief that intelligent people such as they were, would think that getting in that thing was a smart thing to do.

It's being reported that one of the engineers working on that project wrote a paper several years ago expressing his belief that Ocean Gate was building that thing using experimental methods and he was fired. Obviously they proceeded on using the same methodology. A video game controller to operate the thing? No seating for occupants? No escape from vessel without significant men and tools available on the surface? No guidance abilities other than receiving comm from surface ship giving heading changes. The short comings go on and on. To repeat, why did they do it?

Damm, I hope for the miracle we all are rooting for.

I am VERY claustrophobic and just thinking about this makes my heart race. I couldn't even ride the submarine ride in Disney. No f'n way I'd get in the Titan. Just goes to show you not all billionaires are smart...

Yep. And how hard would it be to put some type of locating mechanism on the damn thing?

I read it had a pining device and had emergency surface ascending…… something went terribly wrong the minute the thing started descending
