How safe do you feel?

Maybe ANTIFA will show up and throw a brick through our picture window. We've replaced all of our windows in our 1950 house along with other large remodeling projects over the years, but never replaced the 8' x 8' picture window with separate 20" x 8' crank out sides. Leaks like a sieve at 20 below zero, even though we glaze them, caulk and seal them. Very pretty, but needs to go. It'd be nice to use my HO insurance for the premiums I've paid over the last 20 years.

Or maybe you could sneak out in the middle of the night and toss a rock through your own window.

For us, I feel we live in a neighborhood that's very safe. In non-rioting times I'd give it a 10. Now that Antifa has advocated moving out into the white neighborhoods I'm only giving it a 7-8 and my security attention level has move up from green to yellow.

There is relatively easy access to our subdivision from a bike path that parallels the river. IF there was an invasion of our neighborhood that's likely where it would come from. Driving in and out of our sub is a slow process because of the layout of the streets so I'd guess they would not drive in. If any of you have not done a threat assessment of your neighborhood that might be a wise thing to do at this point.

I don't normally keep the front and back porch lights on all night but while this mess is going on that's going to change. That makes it easier for me to see what's going on around the house but makes it more difficult for anyone to see in.

I thought the same thing until last night. The little 250,000 city 12 miles from me had over 80 windows smashed last night. It is truly breathtaking the depths of stupidity these people will sink to. Nothing really surprises me anymore but at times it does leave me with no words
 
So in essence, I believe the consensus is that if ANTIFA and the unruly decide to try and riot, loot or burn down suburbia, it's a really good way for them to lose an eye.

You are probably correct. We are in Calgary and have nice people. I have relatives in Ontario and they lock their doors during the day. 50 years ago it was not that way.
 
Our county issued a curfew for tonight beginning at 8:00 PM, we will see if this works.
More FB posts with idiots actually calling out the stores and malls they want people to take their aggression out on. I hope Law enforcement Cyber units are tagging these posts and will be able to track the instigators down and prosecute to the maximum. Of course we cant put them behind bars because of covid!!!!!!!

On another note, the political correctness is beyond ridiculous. Grant Napear has been a beloved Play by Play radio announcer for the Sacramento Kings since the late eighties. During a twitter conversation with some popular retired players he posted the sentiment ALL LIVES MATTER. He was summarily fired for posting such a racist and insensitive comment! Geeze folks! The common message now seems to be that until the unaffected citizens (meaning middle and upper-class white folk???) feel the pain of the dis-enfranchised black man this will continue. Give me a direct order of what I can do to absolutely make it right. Problem is there will never be enough resources to address the grievances of every cohort that think they have been slighted.

There is no evidence of systemic racism in this country. None.

That’s not to say there is no racism, there is. I see it every day from many blacks who hate whites and say so openly. There are whites who are racist against whites. Watch CNN. They’re all racists.

Blacks need to move on with their faux victimization. Slavery was abolished a long long time ago.
We elected a black President, twice! He did nothing for blacks.

Every city that’s burning is either led by a black or a leftist white.

I’m sick and tired of the excuse of racism. Being broke is temporary. Being chronically poor is a cultural mentality, not racism.

Biden just said that at a speech yesterday or today....Systemic means

"Institutional racism (also known as systemic racism) is a form of racism expressed in the practice of social and political institutions. It is reflected in disparities regarding wealth, income, criminal justice, employment, housing, health care, political power and education, among other factors."

So this started when Trump became President?.... What did Obama and his sidekick Biden do for 8 years to get rid of it ?.... the term has been around since 1967.

I think the Dems think they have the silver bullet to win the November election with these riots….. I think they are pulling a Hillary X10
 
So in Beaver Falls, PA (hometown of Joe Namath) there were about 100 people protesting Sunday in the middle of main street. Apparently it was peaceful from all reports but a mini-van was driving down main street. The video starts with the van pulled off by the curb with a few protestors near it. Video doesn't show any aggressiveness but the van suddenly takes off down main street. A protestor that was interviewed said she was hit in the shoulder by the mirror. Police are looking for the van but no decision has been made on charges being filed. One protestor was interviewed on the news and asked why people are so angry to drive through a crowd of protestors? WHAT??? With the violence and attacks we have seen on the news I'm pretty sure that mini-van driver was sh*tting his pants and was just trying to get away from there. Pretty sure I would have done the same thing. BTW-we drove down that same main street about 6:00PM that night and there was nobody out so it was all over by the time we went through there.

Word to the protestors...don't stand in the middle of a main road surrounding vehicles and you won't have people driving through your crowd!
