How can i make my boat faster?

How fast is your present WOT? How much faster beyond that do you want to go? :smt017

My older 175BR didn't have problem doing 45mph with 2-4 peolple on board.

STIHLBOLTS mentioned trimming the outdrive. If you are not doing this, it's free and good for a few mph. I knew nothing about this when I first started boating.

Excellent point,
On my 240DA it makes about 4-5mph difference by making proper drive and tabs adjustments.

My 1991 180BR had a 4.3 which/Alpha I. I don't think it's offered anymore but It really performed well. I think H20Nut may be right though. I'm not sure the 3.0L will provide enough HP to get you the speed you want. The Quicksilver High5 prop does a good job provide extra grip at the hole shot and retains your top end, but if you're are talking about getting one with more pitch(my guess is that you have a 19" prop now) if you went to 21" there's not enough horses to see the top end gain.
My 180BR did 60MPH with just me in it. Too fast for that size which is why you can only get the 4.3 in the 185. Since you have the 185 you would be much better served with that engine, but it may be a spendy upgrade.
