Hot tubs???

My mom came to visit right after we got the hot tub. It had just snowed and it was slippery …… the tub was sunk into the deck….. my mom says I’ll go in the hot tub but I need a really big White Russian because I’m not getting out. So my wife makes her this really tall glass ….. I’m already in the hot tub ….. my mom is a big woman …. So picture that. She takes one step down and start sliding towards the hot tub ……. And I’m thinking oh my god I’m going to get squished by my mom….. she does a perfect belly flop in the middle of the tub….. her huge White Russian goes in too…. The tub turned white….. funny as Phuck to everyone except my wife. …… she made me drain it the next morning and clean it out….. it was so cold.

Hot tubs are bad…. If you don’t believe me ask Mathew Perry when it’s your turn

Our hot tub in a locked gazebo. We use it about 5 nights a week depending on our physical workload for the day. We have a Clearwater spa and have had it for about 10 years. We've replaced the cover and that's it so far. My wife loves it because it reduces chiro visits and helps reduce aches and pains after working around the house or a pickleball session. My knees are starting to go and it's great for them as well. I can't imagine NOT having one. We change the water in the spring and fall by siphoning the water out into the field with a couple of garden hoses. I can drain it in about 2 hours and filling it in about the same time. It's usually up to 103 in about 12 hours. We haven't had to replace the element, but now I'm wondering if I should? Hmmmm.....

Sister-in-laws father punched out the same way.
If you have any kind of heart problem you may want to consider something else.

On the brighter side, after an hour of leaf raking, the tub, a sunset and a few cold ones go together nicely.

We had a hot tub in our great party room growing up. My parties are things of legends. Girls dig the hot tub. New Years Eve in the snow was a hoot.

Now I'll just leave you all with this:

We've had one for approximately 18 years, and we still use it at least every weekend.
We're just getting use to the thought that now that we're retired to use it more during the week.
We usually keep ours around 94° in the summer, and 101° in the winter, but we also stay in for 45-60 minutes each time.

I thought hot tubs went out with water beds, big hair, and disco? Its still a thing?

Thanks everybody for all the replies. Of the ones we've looked at so far, Hot Springs is our favorite.
If you go down the Hot Spring road, you may end up with FreshWater salt system.
The cartridges are on the steep side and if your phosphates are high you will go through the cartridges like shit through a goose. Hot Spring says you should get about four months out of one and initially I was lucky to get three.
I'm now getting a minimum of seven months. The test kit for phosphates is about $15 and a bottle of 'Phos Down' is about the same. Make sure if you do the phosphate treatment that you pull the filters a couple days later and give them a good rinse.

This place has about the cheapest prices on supplies I've found.

FWIW I'm doing a water change in the fall after the boat gets hauled out and in the spring right after it goes in.
I'm using the Hot spring filters as they seem to do a better job and they are not all that much more expensive that the off brands.
