Hole in the Water Club

Looks great
I was going for the wheel this weekend but they kept saying RAIN :smt009
it never came :smt013
but I have enough things on the list to keep me busy no matter the weather

Greg, looks like you did get a lot accomplished... congrats. I didn't do anything but enjoy the boat this weekend!

I almost asked when she is going in - don't answer that! :smt018
It's like saying everything is working perfectly, you're only asking for trouble.

The work is coming along nice !

I wish my brother (jc_weekender) had time to finish up work he started on the 240 Weekender he took from my Dad's estate.
It's almost identical to yours but with (2) straight 6's. He has an old post you probably looked through.
I really like the 240 Weekenders, never understood why they stopped building their top seller at the time.

Wow, didn't realize it had been so long since I posted an update. Truth be known I had to cancel the electric for a month, cable and phone (home and cell) service so I could make a payment to the marina for all the work they have been doing.
One blower motor burned up, thanks to the nesting birds.
Rebuilt carb.
New plugs, wires points and cap.
Busted a heater hoe, replaced both. (yes I said Hoe)
Good news is the #6 cylinder is firing now !! :smt038 and that should take care of the port motor.

Now to the really important stuff:
Cockpit Led Lighting
Repair the windlass (wont have any electric, phone or cable that month then either)
Plug some holes in the deck
Fix the forward hatch
Finish off that 4th case of Corona.
Finish buffing and waxing all by August

Man do I love boating !!!!

JJ,
Good to hear from you. Wow, my sincerest empathy! You don't need the power/phone/cable...you have a nice looking boat instead!

Do you have the old Good windlass? What's going on with it?

I swear the bow grows 20' when you are tring to buff it!

I haven't started to trouble shoot it exclusively but I am almost certain it's the foot switch since there is zero action to it. Yeah that bow.....I hope to get some more buffing on Sunday since I have to work Friday and Saturday but hey, where would the fun be if I didn't have anything to do ? Lol

why didn't anyone tell me deoxidizing with a wheel could be dangerous
got the topside so slick it nearly drug me off the front deck last nite
I need this boat in the water really bad...falling off of it is starting to look like a trend is starting

I guess I need to be in this club also. I can't help it, I found this old little sea ray that was DOA and fell in love with it. Now I spend my time and money bringing her back to life. New, seats, floor and motor last year, Just put in a new shifter controls, trim tabs, fish finder and some led lights, and I am all ready looking for something else to do to her.

You will find many things in your hole
Welcome to HIWC

well got the whole boat wheeled and waxed and figure she's ready to splash. The hull came out great, but unfortunately I ran out of polish on the deck and tried to go right to wax from buff magic...well learned never to do that again. just looks like a swirly mess top side. too tired and lazy to strip the wax and go back. I think It's time to actually try and enjoy the boat

then go figure my hole found a way to dig deeper into my pocket. I started putting up the canvas and I literally had the brackets crumbling apart in my hands. just about every other bracket either broke, cracked or went missing. how does this even happen? I guess better the bracket ends then something go bad with the canvas.

My year just keeps getting better...... :smt009

I just had all that work done to my boat (inverter/charger, radar arch, radar, new 10" display, new ignition sensor) and I had it detailed Thursday. Sunday we had enough of the moving done for the Admiral to OK a run on the boat. Got down there, started getting ready to go, popped the middle hatch to check the oil and bilge
omg.gif
I have water up to the high water pump and none of the bilge pumps are running!!!!!

I call my electrician and tell him the boat is sinking so he should get his arse over to the marina PRONTO!

Turns out none of my bilge pumps had power at the fuse box next to the battery switch so he started tracing the wire and its heading to the fly bridge? smileyvault-wtf.gif

After looking at the situation he jumpered the fuse box and pow all the pumps start pumping. So he took a 10 ga wire from the battery side of the battery switch, removed the dead power lead from the fuse box and wired the fuse box to the battery side of the battery switch and the pumps are working. We also checked every 12 volt system on the boat, everything works fine. I also found out where all the water came from..... my detailer wanted to make sure the back hatch panels were sparkly clean so we took them off and as he put it "the hose might have been running a while in my bilge, but we didn't get any water on the engines!" Gee, thanks.......:smt013

Does anyone know what happened to cause this or why the power for the bilge pumps is routed to the fly bridge in the wiring harness? I'm a bit perplexed and a little nervous since the answer to the problem seemed "too easy"
