I Jason/ Pyrojodge do here by state, that I own a hole in the water... best thing I've ever done!

I haven't brought mine back to life but I would consider it a hole in the water after seeing what my costs will be to replace the manifolds/riser. I'm in!

ill soon join this once i turn the motor over in about a month

My name is Mike and I am an addict....to holes in the water. Currently I own four. My 550 Sedan Bridge, a 19' 1989 Reinell bowrider and two dinghies, one of which is for sale if anyone is interested in it.

I have a secret though. I guess it's sort of a confession and I bet most of you are equally guilty.....I don't tell my Galley Wench when I order stuff for the boat. Sometimes she sees the packages come, sometimes not. I like the "nots" more than when she sees the boxes come.

Oh, and I also frequent four boating websites. Like I said, I'm an addict.

It's real easy having a business, all the boxes of boat bits get delivered there, then go under the hard cover in the truck and straight to the boat.

The Admiral is a Psychologist, she is working on me..................... Telss me, we can't ski anymore, we can't bush walk any more.....so you need the boat honey

God I love her

Ian ....are you an addict ?? can't tell from your story ...is your Admiral enabling your addiction

My name is James and I am an addict! I have been one for 35 years. At least now my 2nd Admiral enjoys the addition, my first did not! After my Admiral spent lots of time on the new boat the first season, it brought the addiction to her. Now I just order what I need to keep her happy!

I never tell the boss the truth about what I spend on the boat or on my cars. I bought two new motors for the boat after it came out of the water and only told her about one. I only fessed up to half the price of the first motor and never mentioned the extras or cost of installation.
I usually abide by the rule of half. That being that whatever I spend on toys I tell her half of that amount, but since I originally was only thinking of changing one motor that she knew of; why bother to mention the second one?
I restored my GTO about a dozen years ago and she still has no idea what I spent on it.
If she knew what I spent on detailing products for my cars she'd go nuts. Luckily the big brown truck usually comes when she isn't home.
The way I figure it is that it comes out of my spending money, not our savings, or from anything she earns in her paycheck, so what I spend money on that she doesn't account for is fair game. There has never been a bill paid late or missed payment since we've been together so I don't feel guilty.
Sometimes a little white lie is good for a relationship
I also never ask her what she spends money on. Whatever she makes is all hers. I don't aske her to contribute to household bills at all.

Ok, here it is. It's not easy admitting I have a problem, but I guess that's the first step to recovery. My name is Shaun, and I'm an addict. I have a hole in the water and can't get enough! I have had 5 boats in the last 3 years, currently with 2. I subscribe to several boating magazines, and although I only have a few hundred posts on here, I am honestly on CSR 30+ times EVERY day!! I read a lot more then I post. :) But save the intervention for someone else because you're not gonna cure me!!!

Mike,
That's funny. I have ordered stuff with my brothers credit card and gave him the cash because my wife is the house accountant! I will be purchasing stuff with my company credit card in the future since I pay my business bills!!
Isn't it considered a problem when you hide it from the ones closest to you? Ha, I guess I have a problem too!!

I just have stuff shipped to my work address.... At least my little lady is pretty clueless and doesn't notice new things showing up...
Oh the joys of my own bank account!!!

Which bit are you unsure of in my addiction Jim?
The fact that everything gets delivered to my business, never goes home, just gets hidden on the work truck and taken straight to the marina.

And have you looked at my post under February string?

Or the fact that my wife has just given up on the mistress and tells everyone I deserve the release.
