Hole in the Water Club

Oh do I know about let letting the wife know that I bought a boat until it was being delivered. Once I settled the estate of my mother, we went and looked at the current boat. IT looked good but needed some little work. About 2 weeks later, my wife did not want another boat. She wanted to travel on my inheritance money and I said no. They she and all the kids started talking how they were going to spend the money. I put my foot down and said no. A month later when the check was in hand from selling my mother's house I put a bid on the boat. A month later I sold my 81 260 Sundancer. My wife was happy about not owning a boat the day were watched the old boat leave. That is when I told her that we would be without a boat for only 10 days.

The bet at the marina was I would be divorced before Christmas. That was 3 years ago and since then, my wife said that it was one of my better investments. She loves the boat!

Picked up a Sea Ray 300 Sedan Bridge for $2200

OMG, $2,200.00? That is a great deal! :wow:

AKBASSKING and I share a lot of tips & tricks about our 300 Sedan Bridge's with each other. Let us know if you need anything or if you find something we should know.

Show us some pictures of the inside and outside.

Good luck and hope you love yours as much as I love mine :smt001

Oh, oh, hole in the water, got a few of them and love every minute of it!!! So I am new around here as I just bought my first Sea Ray last November. Picked up a Sea Ray 300 Sedan Bridge for $2200 and am super excited about it. Cant wait to get it back here to my cruising grounds of the Upper Chesapeake Bay soon. It is currently over in Cape May NJ. This will be my birthday present to myself in April as my wife doesn't know about it yet! :wow:So, do I qualify to join the club now?

Agree with Pack! We need the story. Does it float?

This is gonna be tough....hello....my name is Don....and I'm a Sea Ray addict. I'm a lake boater.....and I burn......gasoline.

I once, many years ago had a pontoon boat, and then my eyes were opened. There was this 290 Sundancer that I had an affair with for 6 years. Then I strayed.

Now, after 4 years, there is this 380 that controls my life. She has a death grip that controls my finances and my spare time. I spend winter days waiting for a warm snap where we can go out on the flat water.....and we do...often.

My antenna tilts back......but I don't care...it fits my covered slip....and transmits perfectly.

My wife knows there is another woman, but she understands.

Please don't intervene. Just understand. I want to belong.

Don

This may very well be one of the best written discussions I have ever read.

that's a great story James! I think I've been very lucky in that the wife has become just as much of an addict as I have. I toyed putting the 22 up for sale after purchase of the 27 but she quickly protested! (almost made me cry with joy!) then I figured she'd start to falter once I started talking about all that I wanted to do to the 27 but she even helped build the list! I have to say this thread is very theraputic for me, it's nice to find people who understand me! haha.....wow this really is like an addiction group.
quick picture of the 22 when I decided "hell with it" and reshot the entire deck.

My wife also may be more addicted than I.
I had no idea how much she loved boating until we really started looking at cruisers
She was in love with a total POS Carver that was totally inoperative except it might have floated.
it seems now even with my addiction to boats AND the restoration of boats...I am the reasonable one.
I accidentally mentioned a 390EC in Ohio and the fight was on...
we just aren't to the point we can own a craft that size yet and our locality makes the 240 just about right size wise.
We really talked about Quint's 290 but that would require a serious truck upgrade for me making the price too high
since I refuse to finance "toys".

It's nice when the Admiral shares the love of the sport and understands the expendeture to keep it up.

What is the member list so far? You know you can vote on threads and give them star ratings to get others attentions...

Post #1
and I never rate my own threads...

Hum... maybe I should pay better attention since I hold an elected position...

I'll rate this one a good one... its nice to know people with the same love affair...

I would consider you well qualified
And welcome to CSR
But pictures required as soon as you get some

Thanks for the welcome, glad to be part of the club. I have always admired Sea Rays, now I finally have one!

And Happy Birthday Brandon!

Thanks!! This has been the longest winter for me ever. Still have to wait to mid April for my birthday to actually give it to myself though. We bought the Wellcraft 2 years ago on my birthday as well, so I am trying to start a trend

Sweet!! Nice to know that there are a few others out there with the same boat as I have. I know that the only made these for 3 years before changing the style so I didn't know how many were still floating around out there. I will be sure to pass along anything that I find about them and look forward to seeing what I can learn from you 2 guys. Thanks for contributing!

Haha, yep, it floats and runs too! I think I got it at a great deal but it does need quite a bit of work done to it though. I plan to update everything on it slowly as time and money allows. I had been looking for a while and finally stumbled on this one. The PO had been trying to sell it before winter so that he didn't have to pay the storage fees on it. He had already upgraded and didn't want 2 boats. He was getting desperate to sell and I just happened to be at the right place at the right time

I will be starting another thread soon with the limited pics I have of her so far. Thanks for all of the interest guys, nice to see others sharing in the addiction!

except for the last 2 minutes of the game ...there was no problem

Is this an all "boys club?" I even give up my birthday and Christmas presents etc. to buy boat stuff. Rather have a new teak floor, underwater lights etc., than jewelery any day! The Admiral of the Fleet, (340 & dinghy) does not care for trolling the Internet but always asks me what's going on CSR. We started with a 17' many years ago in th UK, moved to 27" and now 34'. We encouraged our children too and both are into boating, our son especially. I am pleased that I have never been a "golf widow" and that boating is our joint passion. A family that boats together stays together (generally.) We have been happily married for a long time, I always say that I have not gotten him worn out yet, but he says that I'm trying very hard:)
