When I log on to Club Sea Ray, I click on the "new posts in 24 hours" link to see if there are subjects that I can help with, or learn from in regards to SEA RAY boats.

Lately, the new posts are being over run more and more with Holding Tank posts. I am a fan of free speech, however, I subscribed to a special interest board for the subject at hand, not general topic discussion. If you've ever been to rec.boats, you'll understand how a handful of chatters drove away thousands.

Please don't drown this board with off topic stuff.

The 24 hour link is just there as a convenience to those of us that wish to view all the new threads. In cases like yours the forum is separated into various areas. We keep all the general banter in the Holding Tank so you do not have to be bothered with it. Since you are strictly here to help and not socialize with the crowd then you should click the "forums" link right above the 24 hour link, then visit the 2 or 3 forums where you have expertise. All the recent threads will be at the top of those particular forums. The Holding Tank is actually here for your benefit so you don't need to be bothered with that stuff.

370Dancer: Give it up, as admin fully supports the fraternity behavior here. If you don't like the direction the board is heading, continue to withhold your financial support, lurk more and say less, and contact advertisers/Sea Ray complaining about the content.

If you do not like the board instead of calling Sea Ray or advertisers and messing it up for the ones that do; how about stop viewing it.

370 dancer you bring up a great point. It happens every winter and usually calms down by March.

Once again I don't know if this is bashing, or captain obvious, or ??? The Holding Tank is for all the off topic crap. Should we eliminate the holding tank so the crap is all over the rest of the site?

The CSR site is the only one I go to that even has the "last 24 hours" link. If you don't want to read the holding tank banter then simply go to the forum area you have interest in. I swear I didn't skip kindergarten, but I really feel there are some social skills I must not have picked up on somewhere because I am really not picking up what some of you are putting down :huh:
 
Ironically in the last 24 hours there is a post about Bush dodging a shoe, a ponzi scheme, a bunch of fraternity sea ray owners (and me) in a sailboat race, then there is this annoying post about how annoying posts like this are :grin: The other 60 are all about Sea Rays.
 
Admin: Medical fraternity? Yah, that's what I intended to convey. LOL (really). You know, a little tightening of the seal on the holding tank might improve the board's declining reputation. How's that G-Dock coming along?
 
Medical fraternity is just what Dictionary.com uses as an example. Be sure to include this in your letter to the advertisers that the admin from this site is unable to control what dictionary.com uses for examples. I am really at a loss as to what your gripe might be. You have not reported one post. Are you just here to complain? Have you read the Holding Tank? Why don't you go check it out and point me to the posts that you find inappropriate so I can see what you are talking about.

More people joining the forum almost everyday. I'd take that as a sign of a good reputation.

Sfergson727: The issue isn't censorship, it's reputation. Admin can censor anything he wants or allow nearly anything he wants on this private board.
