I was hoping a fellow CSR member may know the best option for replacing an underwater exhaust outlet. I was cruising along the Maurice river headed to my winter storage yard when I hit a hunk of wood that knocked the port side outlet off.:smt089 I need to get a replacement and I'm not sure if I have to go directly to Sea Ray and pay 5 times what the part is worth (I'm guessing) or if I could get it elsewhere for maybe 3 or 4 times what it's worth. If anyone has info on this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mark

wow... Lucky you did not take out a prop and shaft and sink... I would think there should be a boat junk yard down in Florida where you could get one... They have have be using the underwater exhaust since 96...

Your the only other person I have heard that lost one... I had to replace my stb under water exhaust about 4 years ago, when we hauled it for the winter I noticed it missing. I never hit anything that I know of, all underwater hardware was perfect. I am suspicious of my yard when they hauled the boat if the rear strap didn't get stuck on it and when the weight of the boat put preasure on it, it let go. The srews were snaped off going towards the outside, so maybe....
Anyway to answer your question I ended up ordering it from Marine Max and I think it was about $400 dollars (maybe a little less), it is heavy Bronze (it is nice and shiny when new!!)

Larry, I'm surprised more people haven't lost these. They are designed to break away under impact so they won't damage the boat which is why there are attached with such small diameter hardware. I was expecting the cost to be much higher then $400. I figured they would be worth about $150 to $200 but would cost $600 to $800 Sea Ray dollars. Thanks, Mark

I lost one 1.5 years ago and I think it was just under $500 from SeaRay.....

Well I just ran up on a shoal two weeks ago and damaged both props. Went under the boat and look at the damage and decided to replace the props with four blade instead of the three. When the boat was pulled to change the props much to my surprise the port underwater exhaust was gone. Not sure when it came off but went ahead and put the new props on and put the 370 da back in the water. Now I have to get the new underwater exhaust ordered and boat hauled again to install. This little bump on the bottom is going to end up costing me close to three grand. I guess I am lucky I did not bend the prop shafts !
Flounder Pounder might have one. I don't know year of your boat so guessed at 1999...they have one for it according to SR part number 765149 http://www.searay-parts.com/Bronze-underwater-exhaust-port-p/18030 underwater exh outlet.htm

Both of them were missing when we purchased our boat. I got them directly from Sea Ray for about $800 apiece (they're larger on diesel exhaust systems). That was over three years ago when we bought the boat from its original owner.

I know this is an old thread but I’m wondering how to install one of these underwater exhaust ports. Mine was hanging on by one machine screw that has an nylon acorn nut tightened from the engine compartment. There were a total of 4 bolt/nut fasteners (3 broke off) and the rest were SS oval head wood screws (heads broke off). I’m in the process of digging out the broken fasteners.
Is there a gasket for these ports? It looks like there was one. I’m afraid to just use a bead of 5200 in case the port is designed to break away on impact and the 5200 might cause damage. Of course, since my port is through bolted, maybe the 5200 might not be a bad idea. Any thoughts?

There is a set on eBay and flounder pounder has them.

Thank you for your response. Are you referring to the port itself or a set of gaskets? I still have the port. I'm looking for the correct way to re-mount it including a gasket, if required. I can't find a gasket on FP or ebay. Can you please provide links?

No Gasket Needed. We grinded down the area and cleaned it all up. Then Black 5200 and put it back on. I ripped out a little chuck of glass so we had to put some glass back down. Yours looks really clean so you can probably fill in the holes, clean it up and attach with 5200.

My diver just told me my starboard exhaust port is missing. Found one on flounder pounder. Will call later or after the weekend. Kind of shocked, didn’t hit anything at all this season and it was there when I launched. Only a few weeks left in the season, any reason to think I should not continue to operate the boat?
