Haul Out

I'm usually haulling out at the beginning of November. I've learned that it's easier to get most of the stuff done while she's still in the water. Then when she's out I just winterize the mains, wash and cover.

Knowing that you have number of projects lined up, if you shrink wrapping, I'd suggest to get an oversized door. I did this for few years and it's a lot easier to get in/out with tools and parts.

The only people that come out in FLorida are the ones coming out of the closet. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I'm coming out on Tuesday, October 9...........

Summer goes by too quickly.

I guess I should really start thinking about this huh? Still go for an hour cruise almost everyday. I'll probably pull her by nov 1st when the marina yells at me. Season one with my first real boat is over without any real glitches thanks to your guys. Thanks again can't wait till next year. It might even grow a few feet over the winter who knows

All you guys talking about hauling out - as a spoiled "southern boater", I changed all engine/genny/transmission oils/filters today, and put up the eisenglass - Ready for winter boating

This past Monday, It was a great summer, but it's that time. When the rain is coming down sideways and the temps are falling, like they are right now, it's comforting knowing that the boat is tucked away inside the building.

Out on October 19 or 20th...sad but, maybe I can shrink wrap before its below freezing and threatening snow.
Who knows maybe we will get snow this year.........(we skipped winter last year).

No haul out, no winterizing...Florida-bound next weekend. 800 miles just to see Frank.

I hope to say the same some day. Have fun and safe journey.

What's a haulout?

We're lucky 'cause we boat all year. Wyrman, you could too if you want. I just blow out my fresh water lines and put a couple of 1500W heaters in the boat and one in the bilge. We "flush and wash" with gallon jugs of water we bring from home.

If you leave it in you'll be able to participate in the Christmas Lighted Boat Parade. We do that and also our annual New Year's Day Cruise!

I agree Mike! We are very fortunate here in the Northwest that we don't need to haulout. Coming from the Midwest, this was always the saddest time of the year. I typically spend every Saturday at the boat tinkering. She gets a bath every other weekend during the winter. There are still quite a few great weekends of boating left here in Portland.

I'm hauling on Tuesday, the day after Canadian Thanksgiving. This was our first season with the 370. It has been in the water for 2 years, so I figure its time.

Time for a bottom wash and new anti-fouling in the spring. Props are coming off and will be scanned and cleaned up over the winter. Then I can do the hull in the spring. It needs a Buff Magic treatment and then a couple or 3 coats of wax in April.

Like GFC, we don't need to haul out for winter. Boats here can stay in all year but still need to be winterized. We bought this boat without seeing it out of the water, but that's because we did the year before. We've known the boat for 5 years and couldn't be around for the survey. (Damn working for a living can get in the way of having fun!)

Gotta say guys, you've been a tremendous help with a myriad of things with our Sea Ray. Tons of great advice and a bunch of new friends! I'll post a video of haul out...took the day off.

You're in TN right? Taking her down on her own bottom? If so wow what a trip. Please post pics of your journey!

Close. We're on the Tennessee river (ky lake). Yes, on her own bottom. 200 miles upstream on the Tennessee, 450 miles on the tenn-Tom water way & tombigbee river to mobile bay then 160 to panama city. Pulling out on the 14th, plan to arrive on Thursday 18th. I'm ready to go...like a kid waiting for santa.
