Guns on your boat

Ill stick with my Taurus Judge with OO shot or .45 Mag thank you!
CD
Now THAT is bringing a gun to a gunfight. Not only the Judge but the jury and executioner too.

"what I like about it is you can hit the floor in front of the perpetrator and it affects him ....and we all know marksmanship with hand guns sucks...."

OK, I'll buy that. Personally, I'd first try to reorient the thinking of those who don't want a handgun in the house. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I have a step daughter who was very adamant when she told me if I had a gun inside the house they would not be coming to visit. Period. So when they come I put the gun in the safe. IMHO it's worth doing that to have them come visit. They live in the Seattle area. Guess which political party they are aligned with. Frickin' Millennial Snowflakes.

ALWAYS! Always loaded. Bond makes a Derringer that is great for the boat and Remington has 410 loads that work very well in the short barrels and short distances.

As for accuracy, that's why you practice often.

While I like the pepper gun and it's great for folks that don't want a handgun it could get you shot! The gun looks to real. In the dark it has the look of a Glock or my Sig 320.

If I go non lethal I have shells with rock salt or Fatback and mustard seed. Both will light you up...I got hit with rock salt as a kid, never went back in that farmers fields again

Good Lord! This guy is a "Master Instructor" and as a demonstration he shoots a civilian in his bare chest?? Some friend.

That's pretty much what I was thinking, but what people carry or don't carry for self defense is their choice. Besides, wouldn't I be just as "incapacitated" as the perp by the pepper in the cabin of my boat?

No chance I would shoot someone with that, you’d be asking for a Ass whippin
In my opinion.
Lead has my vote.

I really don't feel comfortable posting on this type of thread....

That said, I do wish we would get SCOTUS to finally make it legal to carry traveling through all states without having to jump through hoops ...

I completely agree

Blueone, I respectfully disagree. Like someone said above, if you did that you're just begging to get your ass whooped. And as far as pistol marksmanship goes, you apparently have not been to a PPC or other pistol match. Now I realize those are shooters who practice a lot, but my average PPC score when I quit shooting was 1487 out of 1500, earning me a Distinguished rating. My high was a 1498. That means I only dropped two points out of 1500 possible.

“Trained police hit their targets less than 30 percent of the time
This is my point... I could care less if you bought a gun or a pepper ball shooter

OK, I'm not going to argue the point with you because there's no way I could convince you, but consider this--If you brought a pepper gun and the other guy practiced with his firearm, guess who would win that one. Bounce it off the floor? He don't give a rats ass because you're his.

I’m not trying to win anything... I just had an opinion when it came to a pepper ball gun... if you disagree that shooting a pepper gun near a target wouldn’t affect them ...great. Carry on

I agree that a pepper round will have some effect(MAYBE), just think that a good dose of lead is more likely to have the desired effect.

Don’t know if there would be any legal differences between pepper and taser, but in Michigan you’d still better be in fear of great bodily harm, blah blah blah.

I’ll trust a lead dispenser under those circumstances.

I am not sure how this turned into a gun vrs pepper debate.... with me defending pepper... not sure how you guys jumped to that conclusion. It is well known odds of hitting the target in an altercation goes way down... a missed bullet does nothing.... a missed pepperball has a chance to do something... that’s it... whether you get your ass kicked ..you pretty much stand the same chance with either a missed bullet or runny eyes

Personal defense is up to the individual...do your own research and choose accordingly

Ha....memories. We used to coon apples in an old neighbors front yard. He'd come out of the house hollerin' and threaten to shoot us. We figured he couldn't do that because he'd get thrown in jail so we kept going. Then one night, kaboooom, he fired at us as we were running away. I didn't get hit but my friend Dave got several pieces in the ass. He was crying and then had to get his Ma to dig a couple pieces out. Us dummies found some easier pickins after that.

Blue it changed for me when I looked at the pepper gun, for me it looks much to real. As I said it looks like a Glock or my Sig. Granted the pepper gun would get the first shot but the next shot wouldn't be pepper. I can't remember the movie but "don't bring a knife to a gun fight"

You've got to do whatever is right for you. It takes more than money to own a firearm. LOTS of training and a good clear thinking mind.

I'll tell ya a little story. Many years ago we had a wicked ice storm. We lost power on Christmas morning, trees down everywhere. By the end of the first week the wife and kids went to a friends house, I stayed here to keep the wood stove fed. By the third week things were getting tough for folks, gas and food were hard to come by. About 1am or so someone got the idea to try to get into my house and truck. The guy that tried the front door woke me up by the time he and his buddy tried the back door I was ready. All I had here then was my pump shotgun and not a single shell (kids were very young so no ammo in the house) I remembered what a NNPD officer told me, just the sound of a shotgun racking a shell is enough for anyone to stop and think. So I stood next to the back door and dry racked the gun, that's all it took. They beat feet out of here. I knew I was safe my doors are over 2.5 inches thick and are oak. There's no shooting thru them.
