Greenport LI rendezvous Aug 6-10

Looks like great weather, NOT, for our departure. I'll wait until I can see where those isolated thunder storms are to determine what time I'll leave. wind looks like it will be fine so i'm not too worried. Can't wait to get out of this POS city.

Ok, finishing up 20 straight 12 hour days of work. Well not quite finished but I see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I've got the coveted CSR burgee in hand. I have my shorts packed, a few hats, and some flip flops.

See you all there.

Sorry, I will miss all the fun..
Have to meet people in Block..if anybody is heading over after the Greenport party, I will be around there for at least a week. Rafting in the southeast side of the pond.
Enjoy,
Mark.

Guys,

I would love to come over to Greenport but we are in Block now and we are hear untill Saturday (been here since Monday at Champlin's). Unfortunatly my wife wants to get back home Saturday night now, so we are going direct from Block to Norwalk on Saturday.

PS: Champlin's is packed, they said July was dead but Auguest is starting to be very busy for them. They are rafting 5 deep in some areas!

Mark are you here now?

stars didn't align for a Thursday departure. Between not enough sleep, a broken connector on my gps, bad weather, a puking dog, and a cranky captain, we couldn't get it together in time to make it before dark. But everything is fixed and the dog hasn't thrown up in an hour and we are on the boat so we are planning a sunrise shove off.

As well as sissy, you can add retard too. I took a run to fill up at a cheap marina only to find that I arrived at high tide and couldn't get under the fixed bridge. So I came all the way back in 25mph wind with all my canvas up to fill up at the expensive marina. I think it cost me a steak dinner for that one.

Dancin' Dave and I are here. Greenport is FANTASTIC!!! Plum gut on the other hand almost sunk me. Coming through that passage at the wrong time is not the thing to do. Two huge boats coupled with a current that makes Hell's gate look like a stream... I was standing at the helm, waves were to the top of my head. I had the engines up to 3600 rpms and I think I was doing about 10mph on the GPS. Not sure though, I was too busy trying to keep my shorts from filling. Waiting for the others to arrive.

Can't miss me, I'm the 280 with a CSR burgee by the entry gate all the way in the back.

Let's see some pictures while you're waiting. What's the name of the Marina you're in?

Greenport is nice and meeting Turtle Tone and Katricol has been great, so thus far our CSR rendezvous consists of 3 boats. Thats enough for a party!

Hey guys I hope you are having fun. We departed Mitchell Park yesterday (Friday) morning after braving tornado warnings on Thursday evening.

Take a walk around the village as there is plenty to see and do.

We took a side trip over to Sag Harbor on Wednesday.

Sorry we did not have a chance to meet.

Regards,

-JB

Oh yeah, we have lots of pics and video. Dave just hosted a little party on his boat, what a great host. I'll post pics and video when I get back, the free wifi sucks here.

I have to say I'm beginning to get a dinghy complex. Everyone walks by "oh look at that cute dinghy. What a small dinghy. I didn't know they sold them that small". If one more person walks by and makes a small dinghy comment, I'm going to push them in the water.

Mike, I thought your dinghy was just right. yes it was a pleasure to have you and Rick and the ladies on board.

Ok here are some photos. (We drink milk on our boat)
