Just ordered a sunshade for my boat and Great Lakes Canvas is having their 20% off sale till the end of March. So if you need new canvas, act quickly and save a few bucks!

how much do they charge, does thecanvas match up with the original snaps, etc.

Did you see an ad for this? I don't see anything on their website.

I asked about it when I call today. I waited until March to order in the hope that they would be having the 20% like last year. They did not volunteer the information, but readily responded when I asked.

I got 20% off last year... It was 1/2 the price of the local canvas shops and it fit great...

I am getting to the point where I need a new cockpit cover too. I was wondering, not being a canvas guy, with the right snap tool, is it hard to install the snaps and make the canvas fit right? I am sure there must be a procedure for installation right?

Do a search; this issue and discussion of best snap tool has been posted before.

Walz, just wanted to say thanks for posting the 20% off sale. I finally pulled the plug and just ordered a tonneau cover for my boat this morning, which I've wanted for awhile now. Thanks!

SALE IS OVER I BELIEVE.....:smt089

This morning i inquired about a BIMINI top for my 310
Whether they include the poles, hardware, instructions etc.....

maybe ill save some bucks....installing it myself....

Thank You.
It looks like my boat is too old for them to have canvas for.

Looking for some help here ... my 2000 Sea Ray 215 came with a Great Lakes canvas set which is great, or would be great if I could actually assemble it as there are no instructions. The bimini top is up so no problems there, and it's easy enough to figure out which window/ canvas section goes where, but after that it's been trial and error.

I'm guessing that the first step is to press in the rubber strip to the metal grooves at the top of the windows and then zip it up? Is it best to press in all the rubber strips first, or start at one side? I've not managed yet to get the whole thing to assemble together, and have bruises on my hands from trying to get the rubber strips to stay in the metal grooves.

Surely there's an easier way to do this? Any tips please? Thanks!!

Agulhas - Not sure on your canvas layout, so I'll tell you what I do. Assuming the bimini is up to start. I put in the rubber track on the center glass first, then just start the zippers to each outer glass section, and insert those tracks. Then I drop the tension on the binimi, and start the zippers from the glass to the bimimi. Once everything is together and all zippers are started, I close up all zippers and put the tension back on the bimini.

To put the rubber in the track easier, start with the top side angled into the slot, then sort of roll the bottom into the slot. It is much easier than smacking them with your fist. They should press right in when you roll them in from the top.
