Dogs are the best people...

Wow... very sorry to hear that.

I'm having issues with our Golden named Lou...

My next pet is a turtle.

Rod, nothing any of us can say will ease your pain. We've all been there before and know how you feel. I'm sorry for you loss.

Sorry for your loss. We lost one of our dogs right before Christmas. Couldn't even bring it up.

Rod, as others have said, I also know your pain. I have done the same 4 times now. But yet when the time is right, like I did, I did get a new friend. He turned 5 this year. What I have learned from having a good friend of a dog, really the lesson of a dog spelled backwards, god! Sorry for your loss.

So sorry for your loss. It's amazing how a dog can enrich our lives and expect nothing in return. It's an unconditional love that humans are incapable of.....in their own way.

Don

so sorry.
know how hard it is first hand.

Our hearts go out to you. My wife says dogs are better than people.

She is right for sure. Sorry to hear Rod but you had the pleasure of having that unconditional love for a number of years so you are lucky. Lost our poor Maggie in August of 2010 and home has not been the same since. Our damn cats try to take her place by running to my car when I come home...

Rod, It's hard to lose a close friend and member of the family. God gives us great pets to enrich our lives. Their passing is no lite thing.

Rod

Sorry to read about Riley. We got our dog 2 years ago and I didn't want to get one because I know the pain that it will bring when he moves on. It sucks that dogs don't live longer. They really are great companions.

Thanks guys for all the kind words... My wife is really sad because she spent every day with her.... I know that Ryllie is somewhere special. She loved hanging out on the dock and floating on the kayak tied to the back of the boat. Thanks again,

Sorry for your loss and I'm sure you have some great memories. My two dogs are always with me. They're sitting under my desk at work right now!

They even influenced the name of my boat. "Paws for Fun"

We had to put our 10 year old Jack Russell Mini down two weeks ago after a long illness. Very, very sad. She was a great boat dog and loved the water. We know what you are going through, Rod.

Sorry to hear about Ryllie....my yellow lab just went through knee surgery at 7 and seeing her slow down makes me realize just how short their lives are. To think of her not being around is really tough. It sounds like you gave Ryllie a great life and im sure she was a happy girl. Dogs are such a great part of our lives, but losing them is really hard. Hang in there....

Hey Rod. Very sorry for your loss. Have been through this with three goldens and cried like a baby each time. It is tough but I have recently adopted a new dog and she is great. They are all different with different personalities and you love them all. There are so many dogs out there that need homes so hopefully after you get some more time to deal with this you'll have a new best friend to hang out with!

Rod, as you can see by the four pages of responses. Dogs are a very big part of our lives as Ryllie was for you. Not to mention all your friends here on CSR care about your family. Dogs are truly out best companions, As I said in my PM to you and Nancy we feel for you, it took us two yrs to get another dog after Butch( olde english sheep dog) passed. Now Dublin , is a joy to have at home and on the boat. Ryllie had a great life with a great family Try not to be sad but happy you both had each other for a while.
Rest in peace Ryllie!!!

Like many on this thread, I too have recently lost my long time friend Ginger. Even though I know the sadness you are feeling now, remembering some of the fond boating memories you had with Ryllie helps tremendously and the joy he had, and provided. You will never replace him but rather will hopefully find equally fond but different memories with your next four-footed sailing companion(s) as others here have.
