Dogs are the best people...

Rod, I also can identify with your loss. Words fail us at times such as you are going through now, I am sorry for your loss. When I saw this thread's title I did not know of the news it would bear nor the memories it would bring up of my four footed friends who are gone. Thank you for sharing your loss, it served as reminder of good friends and wonderful times.

I'm really sorry to read of your loss. It brings tears to my eyes thinking about our late Golden, Casey, who we lost to cancer 2 yrs ago. We've always had dogs, as many as 6, and currently at 5. People ask why we have so many dogs, and I just smile and say "they just find us and love us". All our dogs are rescues, and that's just that much better. Ryllie's just waiting for you for a while. Smile through those tears.

My Golden Lou had this baseball size lump show up on his neck a few weeks back... Local vet sent him up to the emergency surgery center in Richmond and I got a text at work from my wife that they thought he had thyroid cancer and there was nothing that could really be done. Spent a small fortune on him anyway and had it removed and it turned out to not be cancer... I was a wreck that day... Thank God is was a false alarm. I can't take the heart break of dogs dying. I will never get another dog...

Here's Lou on Monday... get's his stitches out today (has a big zipper on this neck and had some issues with his ear fixed). He has a prescription pain killer problem now (they put him on tramadol for 3 weeks) and he's stealing shoes and selling them down by the road to pay for pills.
