Decompression

Hope she's doing better.

Not that it should come as a suprise I guess, but the amount of info that folks provide on this site, and the breadth of people's experience and employment fields, never cease to amaze me. Pediatric PT, somewhere previously I saw a concert set deisigner, RV outfitters, boat mfgs, etc... Glad to be here and have the opportuinty share in the info resource (boating and otherwise)!

I'm more than thankful.... It just helps me to have a place to vent my worries. I took tdschafer posted and used it to ask the PT person. I know it's not a boating post but I am truly thankful

I hope the recovery and therapy goes well. I know you all will be back on the water before long. The best of luck ...!

Thank you! On that note, is there a way to set up the boat so that she could at least go down and watch TV or just hang out? NO she won't be going out on the water!

I'm glad for what little help I could offer!

As far as this question goes, I would wait until the acute phase of this injury passes. Then maybe you can possibly fashion some sort of ramp that she could scoot along with you standing on the platform to "spot" her for safety?

Have her join CSR to past the time away. :smt024. :smt001

That and/or "virtual horse ranch" like our daughter did to pass time after surgery.
We wish her a full and speedy recovery.

How's your daughter doing.....?

She got out of the house today and went into town for a bit. Doc looked at her leg and found the brace had rubbed her leg raw. That got fixed and she got to go to school to see some of her friends. All in all she's holding up, she wants to go to the stables and see the new horse that came in and feed the two others an apple.... She forgives them

Slip neighbors told me today they would pick her up and put her on the boat and down in her bunk.....

Well it's been a week and things have been going pretty well. Caitlin will get her staples out on Wens and she's been getting up and moving around more. She really wants to go to the boat, I guess we all have a little boating fever. Slip neighbors say they would put her on the boat, but I'm still not sure that's a great idea. Mom and I still aren't getting much sleep so I took today off so she could just go upstairs and read and nap. The stables have really stepped up and are paying her sick leave, this was her collage money, so they want her to have what she was working so hard for.

That's great news to hear dw. :smt038 . Go to the boat and take her with ya !!!.

That's great news....as well as wanting to "get back on that horse" ....boating as well !!

It's been about three weeks or so, so I figured an update is in order. Baby girl is now sleeping in her own bed now and sorta getting up and down the stairs. Tomorrow we are going to the boat for the first time, I'm only worried about getting her on and off the boat. She goes back to school on Monday. Momma and I are worried bout somebody hitting her leg but she wants to go. Any opinions on taking her out on a slow ride in the creek?

Do it! Just make sure that she is positioned comfortable & stable so she doesn't rock out & you'll be fine. Enjoy the ride! Glad to hear that she's doing better!

Not sure how I missed it but I just saw this thread. Very sorry about the injury but it's probably going to be good for her to her back in a routine and get some normalcy back. Go for it!
