Without identifying the boaters who actually sponsor this site, it would be interesting to know just what the actual count for the three individual levels of sponsorship is out of the 19,500 + members that have registered on this site.

I think there are like 90 or so members.
Jim posted this back in 2009 on CSR Sponsorship.

Thanks for reminding me. I need to send in some $$$$$

our 20,000 +/- members
If they deleted the no show members & spammers that number would be alot lower. :smt024

Alot of members have 0 to 1 posts & haven't logged on in over 3yrs !! . :smt021

So, it looks like we are sponsoring this site at a rate of approximately 1% of our 20,000 +/- members at the very best best .... pretty sad, eh?

Yep... The entry level $25 is a drop in the bucket for boaters!

If every one sponsored the minimum... half a million :wow:

True.

Then we need an active member number also.

The information I steal from this site is well worth the $25 I donate to it. It's also worth the $25 not to have to look at all the crap that pops up when you're not a contributor. Hell, the way I see it I'm $25 ahead.........

BOC flushed their toilet & their membership went from 14.000 members down to 2.500 members. :wow:

The toilet was flushed here a few years ago to get rid of all the spammer registrations that many sites keep to show higher registration numbers. There are certainly many user names here for people that visit rarely if ever and don't post. But what am I supposed to do? Delete them because they are not active enough? Sea Ray is the most searched for boat on the internet so this site should have the highest number of registrations for all single brand boat sites. Who mentioned a half million bucks earlier? Now you're talking. Fact is donations literally go towards maintaining things. I have a programmer I pay to make sure things run smoothly. I'm hardly getting rich lol Nobody has ever been asked to donate by me and they never will. Its strictly voluntary and much appreciated. This site has been a fun project for me. Its fun to watch it prosper. If anything happens in my real world with my company there is certainly an opportunity here for me to turn it into a business. In fact we get offers at least once a month to sell this site but unless its a seven figure offer (which will never happen) I have no interest in selling it. As long as the 1% of you make donations and some of you buy your electronics from us it's worth it to keep it in my back pocket for a rainy day.

This site has been a life line for me during our cold Canadian winters, entertainment on a daily basis thoughout the year, it's allowed me to help others, and saved me lots of hard earned cash! In a nutshell - it's helped put the "pleasure" in "pleasure boating!

I'm able to spare the cost of sponsorship and want to help ensure that the site not only survives, but thrives! :smt038

No problem here. I can't figure the amount of money and time I have saved from advice on CSR not to mention all the money I have saved on electronics by purchasing them from BOE.

Thanks Jim, Tripp and the rest of the BOE crew!

CSR Sponsorship Stay on this site enough no problem to help with support Thanks for all the hard work

I paid when I first joined mainly to eliminate ads...lol Now, in what little amount of time I have been here, I have found, it was a small amount to pay for the knowledge on the site. Thank you!

I will go gold when I re-up!

I get about 15 emails a day from people wanting their log in info, or that need help registering. Here is one that just came in

"I am having difficulty logging on to your website. I signed up about 2 years ago."

I get lots like this. So I can't just go deleting usernames for people that don't log in all the time.
