CSR sponsor Snap In Carpet... aka Custom Marine Carpet... outstanding!!!

What's the going rate for cockpit carpet now days? (ballpark figure is fine) I'm guessing 6-700 for my 250 and if it is, that is outrageous to me for a hunk of carpet.

Got a quote ffrom Snap-In a couple months ago for my 290. It was about $500.

Have a guy coming out to measure & give me a quote for PlasDek CoolTeak http://www.plasteak.com/marine-teak-decking/plasdeck-colors/coolteak on Saturday. I sent him pictures and he's already told me the price will be between $3,000-$4,000 based on the pics.

Simply enough.

Sperm guard lol nice touch. That reminds me funny yet absolutely gross but anyway after the storm I was inspecting th bildge. I found grass twigs dirt seaweed and oh yea a used condom. Wtf maybe a sick joke? Not very funny. I left it there for the adjuster to find lol. Gross but hey what can u do

When I went to school in LI we called them (condoms that washed up on shore) "Long Island White Fish"...

This is consistent with the price for my 340.

X'...two boats ago I had a Yamaha SX230, great boat for water toys and everything you talked about. I had two choices with the carpet, keep it out of the boat when we were doing anything but cruising around, or keep it in regardless of the activity* and remove it, vac and wash as needed and made ready for the next time. I chose the latter. Yes it was more work for me, but it added to the fun for everyone else.

*Dark-soled shoes, red wine or red pop, and smoking were never allowed on the boat...period.

what a waste...throw them away when you can keep turning them inside out untill the holes develop ....

Love what Custom Marine Carpet has done this year. New carpet for topside and new carpet runners for below deck. Would recommend to everyone

I would love to know what you thought about it. Did you make your own pattern or use theirs ? I may replace mine this year as the backing is just starting to fail in a couple of spots.

I am extremely pleased with it. There are some pictures in the mid-90's 290 thread in the Sport Cruisers Forum.

I used the pattern that they already had on file except for the fact that I had them split the aft piece into three seperate sections to match the engine hatches so that you dont have to remove the carpart to lift a hatch. It worked perfectly.

I would have prefered to get the synthetic teak, but at 1/7th the cost, the snap-in carpet was a no-brainer

Your carpet looks great. I love mine as well three seasons in. Enjoy!

I love the Company as well. Here's a hint, if you call them there is a good chance your first contact is my girlfriend Audrey.

Thanks for the information, yours look very nice. I have sent for samples from both sponsors on here. I am going to need to do something sooner or later. How was it to install the new snaps to match the existing

They will rent you a heavy duty snap installation tool for like $35 and include a pre-paid UPS box for you to send it back with.

Took less than a minute to install each snap.

The existing deck snaps in my boat were very poorly located and need to be moved. I want to install the tab and post in the carpet first so it is properly located in the carpet corners then install the deck snap beneath it. Any tips on how to locate the new deck tab in the correct location beneath the new post and snap in the carpet? Anything better than marking it beneath the carpet snap with carbon paper? Thanks.

How difficult is it to make the template and have it look professional. Art class, and anything with drawing or cutting is not my strong point. I need new carpets for my 04 240 Sundeck but don't want them to look "home made" if I do the template.

Are you sure they don't already have a template for the 240 Sundeck?

Regardless the template you make will be a rough outline of what it will look like. They will straighten some edges if needed but if you tell them to make it exactly like your template it will be EXACTLY like your template.

Thanks. I looked at a few marine carpet sites and none had the 240 template. Kind of surprises me with the 240 Sundeck being such a popular boat.

The Dunes berber with rubber backing was about 565 I think, the Honey was 485 with Nu Wave. I'm sure they have most templates for Sea Ray.

:smt089 My quote / purchase from the other guys was closer to $850, BUT, I am happy. It's all perception, If one perceive's it to be a good deal, then it is a good deal.
