CSR Rendezvous 2009 – Atlantic City NJ

Dom, I don’t know about others, but when I saw what you’re cooking I said to myself that I got to be close to your slip, especially since you’ve got those tasty cigars. So, don’t try running too far, we’ll be right behind you.

I was thinking "cocktail party," not "sit down dinner." Us guests will have to stand around and try not to slobber all over our summer best. There is simply not going to be enough room for a buffet spread and seating for 80 on the docks. Bring a chair, sit on a swim platform or someone's gunwale. For those who imbibe a bit too much, Frank's name tags will help in preventing someone from hitting on someone else's wife. Any woman without a name tag is fair game.

:smt043 This sounds like a fun trip! We may buy a boat just for the trip down there to watch all of this.

You bring up a good point.. Maybe we should hire someone to serve food? Too bad she is wearing a name tag

I think I just decided to change my slip assingment again....I want to be next to her boat....

Well, so far I haven’t heard anything about lunch, so I’ll assume we’ll have a quick snack regardless what we do. Thus, if we settle for light “cocktail party” when is time for a real meal? Based on how most people are responding where each boat takes a little extra and we all have big and happy group dinner. Granted, this wont be sitting behind round table waiting to be served, but more of a “pick a plate and find a seat” sort of thing. Looks like things are unfolding kind of how I and others had envisioned it, but if anyone wants to do it differently, please raise your voice while we still have time to rearrange few things.

These pictures should give you some idea of how much room is available on the dock. This is "E" dock. I'm assuming that "H" and "F" dock are the same width.

Why not rent a conference hall, bring in some hookers, guest speakers (Ollie North, Richard Stone) and bring in vendors to pick up the entire tab. Either that or we ditch the wives and move the whole event over to Hooters in Trump Marina and leave the food to her...

Uh, hi Susan. WELCOME! Give me your UN and PW and I'll hack in and get you a signature pic and avatar (I've got more pix of your boat than you do!).

Oh, and it'd be great if you didn't mention post # 849 to Lill :smt100

Vince,
No question there's limited room. So, in case if we can't settle on the "T" I was thinking that one option would be to set tables only to one side and make them in groups 2 or 3, whatever will fit between the double slips. This way we should have room for people to get in to their boats and passing traffic on the other side.

F-dock is much bigger than that crappy thing... I guess they give little dinky docks to little dinky boats.

I'm assuming it's for liability reasons, but just out of curiosity, will the marina allow 80 people to party on the dock? My marina specially calls out on the rule sheet that partying/socializing must take place on the boats, not the docks.

Dom already asked them for a few tables and they said they'd oblige. I think if we are considerate of other people they'll look the other way.

Gary
Glad to see you're back to your old self. AND GREAT IDEA! The Chesapeake Contingent should be assigned their local delicacy: mini-bite-sized crabcakes. Screw the prime rib. And don't bring some Costco frozen crap. We want bits of shell in there.

Ron,

If we all set up a table by our boats we can walk around meet others, see their boats and eat their food.. It will be like grown up trick or treat... We just leave the kids on the boats with mac and cheese.

There won't be any problem setting up tables on the 'T'.....I've been to, and seen many others do the same many times.

That's one of the main reasons I suggested, way back in the early posts, that we request our party of boats be set up beginning with the 'T' and then working our way towards the main dock from there. No one will have to go by us except for us....unless some rich guy comes in with a 90 footer and takes my 'T' spot......then we'll just have to make friends with his crew and invite them over.....it's done all the time....

Those 'big boat' snobs from the 'F' dock will also have to walk by us in order to setup there offerings on 'The' table....we can harras them all we want....it's in the rule by-laws.....

Harass?? --- I'm expecting cheers and kudos when we finally work our way over, that is if we can get away from the great party going on over at 'F' dock.

Doug, as you may know this is where they hold AC National Boat show. There's a lot more than 80 people on the dock at that time. So, I think we should be fine.
