CSR Annapolis Boat Show Meetup Oct 5 and/or 6?

The ticket payment is working well. You guys are sending me payments via Paypal with a note of who you are. Lots of payments received so far. I'll shoot an email back to everybody that has paid right now saying "Got It". No need to reply, that will just confuse me.

Hi All,
Just thought I'd make a post to kick the tires on possibly organizing a "meet-up" for any CSR folks attending the Annapolis Boat Show. This could be as informal as picking a time and place at the show to gather, then huddle for an hour over drinks and grub at the show... to something more organized like lunch or dinner at a local restaurant. Another option would be meeting up above Pussers for the Boat Show Breakdown party which is always on the upper deck of the Marriott garage. They usually have Al (Owner of Big Owl's Restaurant/Bar at Kent Narrows) up there DJ'ing and also a beer/painkiller tent with food.

I personally wont be able to attend until Sunday because of other committments on Saturday, but that doesn't mean the event has to be Sunday.

I also wondered if Jim would be open (or even able) to get discounted vendor tickets if we organized a spreadsheet for saturday and sunday, and then had them waiting at will call. May be too complex, or not even an option of something that the boat show does. I haven't had a chance to talk to Jim yet, so that idea may not hold water....

Any thoughts?

James
James, since you " floated " this [ get together ] idea for ANP boat show, I thought it appropriate to " Bump " some of the other thread discussions about the NAP TOWN break down party back to your thread. Sooo... We'll all stay tuned. Look frwd to seeing you Sunday! Tim

I plan to go down to the show on Sunday around 12 and wander through some boats as well as the vendor tents. Maybe grab dinner and then head back to the breakdown party. Looks like the show closes around 5pm, and sunset is around 6:35 which makes sense from my recollection. The breakdown usually kicks off as it starts to get dusky. For the music/beer/food-tents on the garage above Pussers there really is no official kick-off. They are up there all day. For the actual start of the break-down, there will be horn blow and then the outflow of boats starts.

Does anyone else want to meet up there? Hopefully the weather will hold. As of yesterday the long range forcast had some rain in it for Sunday.

James,

My wife and I will definitely be there and would like to watch the breakdown.

I thought the show was still going on Monday, no?

Not according to the website. http://www.usboat.com/us-powerboat-show/show-information

They will be transitioning and prepping for the sailboat show I believe.

For those going on Saturday 5 October... There's a note on the website saying that there is also a Navy Game that day, so parking at the stadium (as usually is allowed) will not be this time, but will have to park at 2644 Riva Road, Annapolis, MD 21401, on Saturday, Oct. 5. instead. (Or use any of the other Annpolis garages if there is space available)

Looks like great weather for the show. Hope to see some of you Sunday at the show, or for the breakdown party sunday evening. May be warm this time since the show is earlier this year too!

I am sure I missed it but where are we meeting and how do we know who is with CSR?

Unfortunately I dont have any CSR logo'ed gear to tatoo myself, but I plan to be up for the breakdown party, in the general area of where you go up onto the roof from pussers deck/pierside bar.

Jim,
Thanks for hooking us up with tickets at the vendor rate. Had a great time at the show and the weather was amazing. With the weather, I expected the show to be packed, but not so. I guess the slow economy is showing its signs. Hopefully you all had some good sales, and will this weekend too.

James,

I echo your thanks to Jim and wish we could have connected. I stopped in to see him and he told you had a backpack on. I looked for you on the roof at the breakdown and didn't see you. I'll try to load some pics later tonight of the breakdown.

Mike,
Sorry I missed you. We were up there from about 430 till about 645 or so. We had a table as you were coming up the steps forward and off slightly toward the right behind that first bar up there. If nothing else before, maybe we can organize a post holidays local gathering somewhere to shake off the winter no-boating blues!

James
