Well said an honest Canadian ,would you look at that (joking) i’m sorry but the green deal weather here ,up north , or around the world it’s truly not realistic ...yet , it’s not economical it’s not feasible and “they” all know that but it sounds great when you try pitching it to the tree huggers and on the political stage it’s a very powerful tool. President Trump was right when he pulled out of the Paris accord it was lopsided to the United States not not enough towards China. China is the enemy of the entire world when it comes to emissions. We should’ve stayed energy independent.

It was the big dogs shorting that. I'm sure there were some small timers shorting too but that wasn't their target. But even though, a small guy like me shorts 1000 shares (sold for $3000) and buy it back at $2 ($2000) at the end of the day that is a pretty good day.

Sure, but if I get a $50 stock to Drop $5 or $10, I'm that much better off compared to the risk.

Several major auto manufacturers have announced no more manufacturing of internal combustion engines. Were you paying attention? Several U.S. states have announced no more natural gas going into new homes or other buildings. Were you paying attention? Many banks will no longer finance fossil fuel projects. Were you paying attention? Many pension funds no longer invest in fossil fuel companies. Even the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers has stated that we are at or very near peak demand. It’s all smoke and mirrors no one‘s getting rid of fossil fuels anytime soon you can’t even go all electric because even electricity is produced by fossil fuels . It truly is all political jargon it’s just meant to tell people what they would like to hear for the moment it’s not realistic

Indeed. I'm looking for the switch next to the 240v plug on a Tesla where it gives you a choice where to get your energy from. ie. wind, solar, hydro, gas, coal or petroleum.

Keep drinking the cool aid. The "announcements" are all PC motivated. Sure there will be alternatives but in addition to not instead of. It's going to take years to convert. Guys like Biden are just stupid and just want to be woke. How are we going to power all this electric stuff? If they where legit, they would be pushing new nuclear power.

I am kinda with you, remember Calf deregulation. Damn near shut them down. I am still confidant that not much will happen except talk until they figure out the storage of power (electricity). Battery technology has to go way up. Who ever figures this out will be the next Mr Gates or Elon.

Government will stick an influx of taxpayer dollars, again, into green energy companies. They have been trying for over a decade to make green energy the new fiat, that congressmen will have the jump on to invest and make their big bucks while we foot the bill.

Now, consider the fact that a 4hr drive isn't even particularly long. Imagine a cross country trip.
 
Most people seem to forget where electricity to charge those electric vehicles come from. Show me an electric Suburban that will run 10 hours including a 10 minute recharge, I might think about it.

OK, Here is a thought... If everyone switched to electric cars, can the electric grid handle the power demand? Or will it need to be completely overhauled and at what cost? And how will that overhaul be capitalized? By higher electric rates...

That’s exactly what I was thinking oh here’s an idea maybe we can go nuclear renewable power to maintain the tens of thousands of charging stations all around the country wait a minute scratch that ,bad idea....
