"Carolina Gang" June 2009 Georgetown Rondevous

Not sure Nicky. Mt. Pleasant Seafood is right on Shem Creek. You might give them a call tomorrow to find out. There may be a fresh seafood place closer to the marina, but we've gone to Mt. Pleasant SF by boat before and they're a good place. If you want, we could go into Shem Creek on our way out Friday.

Kes' idea for getting in GT is better option....

Howdy all
Would this trip be suitable for, lets say, a 185? DW and I are thinking about joining in @ Gtown on Friday. So, we were tinking we need to find a place to stay (hotel) Friday and Saturday night. Was thinking about launching first thing Sat morning, so I need to find a marina also. Thanks

Unless the weather really turned bad I would think you would be fine in a 185 since most of it is going to be in the ICW. Heck we had a 175 go with us one trip down in the Golden Isles of GA/FL. One section you have to go way out when crossing one of the big sounds.

Absolutely. Would be glad to have you join us. Its open to anyone that wants to come along. There will not be any rough water areas so you will be fine. Winyah bay going out to the lighthouse can get rough, but that will be Fri afternoon. The ICW is pretty calm unless you get a big wake from a really large boat, but if you watch for that you can avoid it usually and the bigger boats in our group can help lead and break that up in the event we have to pass a real A$$. Most of the time that occurs north on the ICW (Myrtle) from the area we will be in. I would say not to think twice about it and start packing.

Things are looking up. The bemini top is near completion, Thank goodness we won't be "TOPLESS". If I can keep my mouth shut and not PISS the seamstress off for 24hr. we'll be good to go!!! ( as My CSR friend Chuck1 would say GRIN)

ALRIGHT! Way to go Janet! Thanks because you know that if you finish it, then we will have beautiful weather and no rain :)

I knew Janet would git 'er done. Way to go Janet! And, the weather is looking good, but that canvas will keep you cool and out of the sun, so you'll still enjoy it, rain or not, I'm sure.

Watching the tall ships is amazing. I'm up for it. But, I don't think they are on a schedule, right? As I recall, we anchored off the jetties and waited some time.

Zeppi--please do join us if you can. We'd love to have you.

I got a message on my cell phone this morning from Bob. His golf tournament was canceled he said, and he wondered if I still had room. Hell yea!, I told him. So, Beerbob is in! I won't be single handing after all.

Sqdler that is great, we will all be glad to have Bob; When are the tall ships scheduled to arrive:

Boat is hooked up, backed around to side for loading, looks like a thurs. nite departure to Charleston.

Good deal. Looks like all is working out perfectly. Talked to Zeppi- Greg and Tonya. Say they are in and will join us Sat morn for the plantation tour.

I topped off Mr Cummins today. I am hooked and ready to go Friday morning as soon as I can drop off my dog. Charleston here we come.

Zippy you can get an idea about the water if you search my screen name. I posted up a trip to Myrtle Beach with pictures last year. You will be fine. Winyah Bay can be a piece of cake or intersting. If you use your good sense and slow down you will be fine.
