cant live without...

i am in the process of outfitting my 2002 280da. i am curious about things others have found that they cant live with or without. (wives and girlfriends go without saying)

i am hoping to shorten the learning curve of items needed for weekend stays on the boat!

thanks in advance!

A lot of good suggestions. Just one thing to remember if you have a boating year that includes a storage period - everything you carry on you will have to carry off at the end of the season. We found our first year with our 280 we brought way too much stuff. I mean do you really need table service for 12?

Our masseuse included in our slip fee's.....

My genset. It powers....
heat and air
coffee maker
lights
satellite tv

Others...
binoculars

bow thruster remote
automatic inflatable PFD

Cork Screw(white wine is perferable to the staining kind)

I keep a spare of all bathroom goods on the boat so Im not hauling things back and forth(toothpaste/brushes, deodorant(be careful it will melt), shampoos/soaps, etc
Raingear
extra fuses(very important!)

Hand held gps and vhf
Phone charger, stays on boat
A good multimeter

Manuals to make using the tools more fun
Bathroom items as mentioned, including electric razor, stays on boat
Charts and nav. tools
Damprid, keeps the boat smelling good all season
Paper towels
Food,drinks, etc.

What is your favourite sparkling water Pietro?

I can use Gordon’s instead of Tanqueray, but I hate running out of my super-sparkling ultra low-salinity and sodium mineral water. It’s from a small source in the north of Italy and I load tons of it before every cruise.

Whats the name of it?

First, since you just got married, congrats, second, you better quickly figure out the logistics if she is your gf or wife. She will remind you that she is your wife and admiral real quick.

Stock for the boat:
Well stocked bar
Grill
enough food until you are back at the dock and hit a store
plenty of bottle water (easier to make cold)
Clothes for all types of weather that can be left on the boat. (tough when a gale force comes through while the temp drops and hail)
did I mention water? keeping hydrated during the summer can make a big difference (beer and alcohol do not count)

I'm an Appleton's Rum guy myself, but a few friends of mine swear by Grey Goose vodka for their martinis.

I like Grey Goose, but I still prefer the Bombay for my Martini... and Absolute for Caipiroska!

For a night cap, I love the Zacapa 23 year

All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz and I'm fine.....(Jeff Spicoli..Fast times at Ridgemont High)
