I'd spend more on flexiteek than the whole rest of the platform! I wonder how that would look with all the real teak

Don't forget abouthttp://www.seadek.com/. I have it on my swim platform and I love it! If you actually plan on using your platform, I can't think of anything that feels better under foot. In addition to an almost infinite variety of colors and textures, they make a faux teak that I put on mine.
It's made out of the same stuff your flip flops are made out of. Expanded, closed cell EVA foam. It's not as durable as teak obviously but after one season mine looks good. I would say it faded just a bit relative to the day I put it on. Also, I spilled some used engine oil omit and didn't notice it until the next day. I scrubbed it with Simple Green and removed about 95% of the stain. There is still a slight shadow but that disapears as soon as the platform get wet. They give it a life of 5-7 years if exposed to the elements. I would estimate the cost at probably $6-700. The best thing to do is call them. They'll send out some samples for free. Make sure you ask for them to send a sample of the faux teak. How durable is the seadek? I'm hard on things. How is it priced?
Good luck with what ever you decide to do. Your platform looks to be turning into a work of art.I might just do that.
