can't think of a new name for my boat :(
last 2 boats we named Dolce Far Niente (the deliciousness of doing nothing). loved the meaning, didn't like saying over radio or having to spell making marina reservations.
'Venture' is written on the back of my boat, being a 370 Venture, and have been just going by that so far. Easy to say on the radio.
Wife wants something depicting our love for the sun, warm weather, etc.
I once saw a boat named 'Ship for Brains'. Love that, wife not so much. Have any ideas you didn't use?

Boat names are better if they mean something to you. We inherited the name 'Goliard" when we purchased our Slocum 43 Cutter. I thought it was an ugly name, but I looked it up and it turns out 'Goliards' were renegade priests from the middle ages, most famous for songs and poetry praising Drinking and debauchery. I kept the name:grin: When we moved to the 'Dark Side' last October. We named our 380DA "Goliard II" . She came with a fine name ("Romantic Dancer") which I attributed to 'dancing with waves'(not a bad name in its own right if you are a Kevin Costner fan). But we did the whole renaming ritual, with the pastor from my church (who is a really good sport) and Champaign and a ceremony I made up keeping the generic flavor of several time honored rituals I researched. While we were shopping power boats we looked at a boat named "The Office", and almost bought one named "Front Porch". I always liked "Unsinkable II". When it comes down to it you want something witty and personal that does not take 15 minutes to sound out in Military Alpha Code, and does not make you sound like a dork calling for help on the VHF. "Coast Guard Sector Golden Gate, this is "Screw-the-Coast-Guard". We have lost all power and are drifting toward the rocks by Point Bonita lighthouse."

My boat is named after my little girl. Her name is Addison so we named the boat Addasun. You have a boat, water, add a sun and your all set. I designed a picture of the three of us, with my little girl and her twin pony tails (silhouette style) standing on the beach with palm trees and the sea with waves behind us.

You changed your sig pic and now my inspiration is gone:smt043 but I was thinking things like Ship Shape, Well SeaSunned, No Tan Lines

Well dang... Anyway, How using the "Venture" name. Something like " New (Ad)Venture". Or "Nothing Ventured".

+1 ... great names.

The owner of my old boat changed the name to "Keeper of the Stars" and used a font you might see for a dance studio for little girls.... yuck. Sorry, new owner of my boat, if you're a member on CSR....I want to believe it was your wife's choosing.

What he said.....

Anyway, if you like the Venture part - how about Ms. Adventure? Numerous connotations can be found in that.....pays homage to both your gal and your boat at the same time, as well as other positives.

Cheers
