Anyone else going to Block this time in Aug.? We will be at Champlins. If anyone else would like to come that week we will have our own large SUV for island transportation (having someone drive my Yukon Denali out there). We have 3-4 boats allready going.

We are hoping to go the first week of aug and hooking up with dancin Dave. I saw you at zeiglers this weekend.

Ya, I saw Dave this weekend and he said he was going the first and second week in Aug., make sure you leave us some food and alcohol on the island... a few years ago we went the second week in Auguest and they were out of everything on the island because they say the first week in Auguest is the 2nd busiest week of there summer next to July4th!!! I wish we were going the first week but we are going with atleast 4 boats from Cove, and this was the week eveyone voted for... Next time stop over when you are in Zeiglers.

I will be in mystic the week prior and planning on hitting Block on the way home (8th and 9th or earlier) - Mike/Dave when are you planning on being there and where?

Our plan is to hit mystic on the way there, aug 1stish. Then keep an eye on the weather and make a run with a good window.

No guarantee there will be any mudslides left the second week.

Will stop by if we see you in the cove.

I will be there - let me know where you will be, I grew up summering around there and know it well - we can head over to block together - Mike

I will be there on Thursday the 13th til Sunday the 16th. This is the annual big boys getaway! I will traveling with my dock neighbor (29 ft Maxum).

Boatrboy,

Look us up at Champlins, we will be there till Friday the 14th.

Will do. I was in your neck of the woods (and Mike) last week twice. I ate at Sono (docked there) during the week and Saturday was Overtons. These are neat places to dock. Is there any transient docks at your marina and is there a restaurant there? Do you ever get up my way (Captains cove, Bpt)? We have free transient and bands on Sunday from 3 to 7 on the deck.

Mark

Boatrboy,

Yes, there are transient slips at cove. Cove is the largest transient marina in Norwalk. There is a restaurant called Sunset Grill, a little pricey for the food, but the bar is good. If you are ever there on the weekend and need transportation to town just stop bye and I will give you a ride or give you the keys to my car if we are there (C 14 west). Captain's Cove is one of our spots when I take out the "guys" for a few drinks...

FYI: As a transient you get passes to the pool....

Hi Larry,
We are cruising from Beach Haven NJ straight shot (Atlantic City area) if the weather is good. Planning to be at BI on 9/10th and then to MV for 11/12 and to NPT for 13/14 but planning to stay at Paynes. Traveling with another boat.

Damn....need a job like Dancin Dave. Two weeks at BI....Nice.
How is it staying on the other side?? I've always stayed in the salt pond.

Still need to fix up the toys before the trip....

Ed,
Look us up over at Champlins, I know people either love it or hate it over at Champlins but traveling with a 6 year old we need the pool sometimes.... How long is the run from Jersey for you? Staying in Old Harbor is limited to anchoring or there is a few slips available in front of Ballards but these are mostly charter boats.

Dave,
I forgot what you said are you staying on a mooring?

180 miles from inlet to inlet....so planning on 8 hours. Champlins is always an option but if they are busy, its a zoo. No kids so no pool needed...off to the beach only.

Larry,
Thanks for the offers. Do they charge at the cove for a few hour transient and where are they in relation to the gas dock? I don't think I would stay overnight as I am just up the road, but I want to visit you and Mike. I was talking to the owner of Rex yesterday and he said they have no transients there other than the gas docks but I assume he meant only his portion of the biz (gas dock and store). He said I should go to the store when I fuel up as they now have "great" sandwiches :)
Thanks again - see you in Block

Larry, I will be at The Boat Basin below the Oar. I like the New Harbor, the old harbor is to commercial. Ed, this will be my second 2 week stint in Block, we just love it there!

Boatrboy,

The trainsiant slips here are just which ever ones are open that day or night, Val is the Dockmaster, If I knew when you are stoping bye I would talk to her and arange it for you.

there's a pool at norwalk cove????

Mike, I told you when I was selling you on the joint. Saltwater pools at Sention Beach right behind the Sunset Grill. Its a membership club but for a day fee (8 bucks)they will let you swim their since we keep our boats here.

Let me know we can go 1 day. Promise me you will wear your floaties. Oh and no Baby Ruth candy bars.lol
