I know this weekend marks the end of the summer, however my wife and I had a proud first. After three years of blood, sweat, tears and swears, we christened and overnighted on our 1990 250 Sundancer for the first time. Our 7 month old daughter Aubrey Celeste was also there to help spill some champagne, fitting since the boat is named after her...My Aubrey Sea.
The weekend couldn't have been better and was everything we both dreamed it would be. It was hard to keep our eye on the dream, esp when installing the new headliner when she was 7 month pregnant! :smt021 ( I dont advise trying that one!) . Everything has been gone over, replaced, rebuilt, etc. The cabin renovation was tough, mechanics I can do, sewing and upholstery was a frustrating challenge for us. The entire cabin is brand new. Its a very proud feeling launching something that you know inside and out. I have bought new boats before, but nothing compares to something like this.
Thank you all for your help and guidance through the whole process. I'm sure I will ask much more, but now I can offer some real world Sea Ray experience as well. Couldn't have done it without everyone, we thank you all!!!

That is awesome!

Great pictures on photobucket that you shared with us! That's one of the cutest little boat baby's I've seen too.

Question - That's a very cool looking steering wheel you have...do you know where it came from, did you put it on or did it come with the boat or what?

Excellent post! That is what boating is all about. Those picturse are worth a thousand words. Congrats and enjoy your new baby(s)!
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for all the kind words and well wishes. We are still on cloud nine. Aubrey is quite the natural on the water, she loves all aspects of it.

Tim: It is a 15" Contender wheel that I found on eBay and loved. I bought an aftermarket solid Stainless knob and adapted it to fit in the wheel. I am very happy with it, much heavier feel that the stock destroyer wheel.

Wow, that is some beautiful work there. And you may have been a newbie on the upholstery, but it looks first rate!

Wow. It is really great to see a young family take up boating and bring their children along with them. Thank you for the pictures and the memories. You and your family will have great memories to come and I will bet when Aubrey is about 14, you will have your hands full and a bigger Sea Ray!! Great job!

Great photo-doc! Good to get the little ones started real early. She seems to love it. Love your pre-Clinton Era boat too! I wish I had three hatches. Enjoy the rest of the summer!

Awesome work and congrats on getting the entire family out on the water. Like the others, you will have a blast together over the coming years.

I love the three hatches. Didn't even know they ever came with three hatches!

Very nice! Always great to see these beautiful old SeaRays all shined up. We had the interior of our '89 250DA re-upholstered a few years ago, but haven't tackled the carpet or headliner yet.
