I have not used it too much this month nor last. We used the AC 4 hours and 42 minutes for the whole month of May

If my daughter is not home, I keep it at 76 during the day and 78 during the night. If she is home 73.

My daughter is excited. Three years ago she was supposed to go on a mission with her church to Guatemala. Of course Covid hit. My sister and my daughter are leaving this Saturday for a 10 day mission.

Tell daughter youll donate $100 to church if she stays for a month. Be cheaper.

We just installed a mini split for a customer that built small on slab home it’s going to be their only source for heating and cooling. It maintains 100% efficiency down to -13f and provides heat down to -40f
I’ve gotten three quotes and we’re going to make a decision soon.
What unit did you put in?

We're still in the mid to upper 90's and my A/C is still running at 76*. Thursday it's supposed to hit 101* and it'll be close to that all week.

Between the heat and the meds…this sucks. I start work at 6am and get out of the heat by 11. Saturday was the worst, I worked in the morning then went to the boat to change the oil. By the time I finished I was having heat cramps and heat exhaustion. My daughter soaked me down like a fish and drove me home. Temps today were pretty bad. I can’t seem to get anything done outside but I’m still plugging away. Only 5 more miles of concrete to power wash

If I'm in the house, 76 upstairs 75 downstairs. I live in a very old brick cape with a slate roof, no insulation in the walls. On these super hot days the upstairs usually stays at 78/79 no matter where I set the thermostat. I've insulated the crap out of the attic, unfortunately I don't have any ventilation up there and it's about 10K to add ventilation. I even tore down the plaster ceilings in the dormers and put R38 insulation and reinstalled drywall.

It was almost too darn hot to be on the boat this weekend.

I have a heat pump upstairs, one window unit downstairs. I looked long and hard at a mini split to do the downstairs by itself, but the HVAC folks said they weren't sure it could do the entire downstairs. A 10,000 BTU window unit will do the entire downstairs which is three rooms.

Samsung Max Heat. The new mini splits are so efficient heating and cooling they’re almost comparable to geothermal.
We were quoted a Samsung as well. Left a VM with the installer and may go that route…..

I have installed 2 mini splits by myself. Not hard to do at all. Both were 12k BTU and total was about $1500 for each one. I went with Blue Ridge brand. Both working great.

Did your lineset come recharged with refrigerant or did you have to evacuate your lineset and indoor unit?

I have done a few myself as well I bought a vacuum pump and gauge kit for like $150. The unit comes with the freon already in it. Evacuate the lines and the inside unit. Check for leaks overnight. Ezpz

It was 102 on 4th. I went day before to start her up get her ready to go out in advance. Got dehydrated and heat exhaustion after 30 minutes putzing around in n boat. We decided it was too friggin hot to go out. Damn.
