American Flag Not Allowed

Psuedomind, that picture of your boat in youir signature is beautifull! I was just sitting here admiring it when I noticed someone must be in the shower or doing dishes. LOL

Jeez, this get's my goat and I'm not even American!

MP1Paul - what the heck is Boxer Day? You don't have to hide the flag around us! Our boys are standing shoulder-to-shoulder in Afgan as well.

Cheers and God Bless America!
Paul

My bad...Boxing Day.

In Canada, Boxing Day is listed in the Canada Labour Code as a holiday It is not an official holiday in Quebec or British Columbia.

Plus my sarcasm does not translate well in writing...just using this as an idiotic example.....Like taking the American flag down and raing the French flag for Bastille day (French indepence day), just so we don't upset the French living in America (just put a bullit in me the day that happens!)....lol

Yellow flag with the coiled up snake that says "Don't tread on me". It was used before and during the revolutionary war.
I almost forgot. You and every other American, both born here and naturalized citizens are most welcome for my service. I'd do it over and over again in a heart beat.

Most of us veterans would by happy to do it again. Problem is they don't want our kind. This time we would do it our way.

Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for "fifth of May") is a holiday held on May 5 that commemorates the Mexican army's unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín.[2][3] It is celebrated primarily in the state of Puebla and in the United States.[4][5][6][7] While Cinco de Mayo sees limited significance and celebration nationwide in Mexico, the date is observed nationwide in the United States and other locations around the world as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride.[8] Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico's Independence Day,[9] the most important national patriotic holiday in Mexico.[10

I never took the time to understand the meaning of Cinco De Mayo. Not even celebrated as much in Mexico as it is in the US.

I wonder if they fly the American flag in front of the school there? When I was a kid, it was a great honor to be the kids raising the flag in front of the school.

We sent the kids to school today wearing American flag shirts. My wife and I both served in the Air Force, my kids can sing the Air Force song, and I'll be damned if anyone tells them they can't wear those shirts! Obviously the "educators" at that school have NO idea about history.

UN-FLIPPIN-BELIEVABLE.... Honestly, has the world gone NUTS:smt100

No. This is a lame decision. Teach the kids what the flag means, instead of banning it. 46% (141,340 votes)

Yes. The safety of students comes first. 53% (164,192 votes)

Not sure, but of all things to ban, the American flag would seem the least 'incendiary.' <1% (1,232 votes)

I used to live in Morgan Hill. It is a bedroom community for people who like living in a country-like setting.

Most of the folks that live there are, how should I say, "like minded" patriots. Many people prefer that city since it seems to be like how things used to be 30+ years ago where you knew your neighbor, kids played inthe street, etc.

But, the schools are terrible. Those that have the means send their kids to private school. Why? Because the test scores are so bad due to dumb kids with no family support for education. (whose parents probably don't speak english) My guess is that many of these kids are "anchor babies" born here to illegal immigrant parents.

How do I know this? My wife taught in the district.

In fact, there is a backstory to this district: in 2003/2004 they got sued by the parents of a gay student that was bullied; apparently the district made no attempt to protect the student. After that, the district instituted mandatory Gay/lesbian/bisexual diversity training.

So, one could say, they were over-reacting by "protecting" the patriotic students from "thug" mexican students.

I say BS! The school is just about 50%-50% white/mexican.

However, out here, Stinko de Mayo seems to promote bad behavior (fighting, drinking in public, etc.) in a certain culture each year, which to them, is okay since it is "part of their culture."

Therefore, many of these kids get this "thug" mentality and cause trouble.

But, back to the patriotic kids: there seems to be widespread support for these kids standing up to what is right IN OUR COUNTRY.

We have to be so "sensitive" to everyone else- except our own cause. This has to stop.

I would be proud to call any one of those kids my son.
At least they were brought up correctly.

If we all don't work to change all this BS this Great Country will be in it's last days. Thank you jarhead, mp1paul and the rest of you out there that have served to protect us. My son will be coming home from Kandahar next weekend :smt038and I am Dam Proud of him!!!!

I dare any person to tell me to take down the American flag or hide it as to not offend others......Better yet, I look forward to the challenge. My son, daughter, and step-son are ALL in the military and I will defend them the way they are defending all of America. I will be taking my boat out today and will proudly fly the American Flag above a mexican flag deliberately flown upside down (purposely did not capitalize "mexican") Bring it on !!!!
