All the stuff/crap we accumulate on the boat

so I removed extra life jackets, freeing up more space.
Wait, we never had more than 3 folks on the boat the past 2 seasons; I don't need 12 life jackets? And 4 additional small ones for kids, I don't have? And those 7 emergency whistles, I won't need all of them? ;)

I have no idea why I have soooo many AA and AAA batteries.

Oh, and instead of taking old clothes to Goodwill, or throwing them away, I thought it would be a great idea to bring them onto the boat. You never know when you will need 8 pairs of socks 11 t-shirts, 12 pairs of boxers, etc.

And I don't need to save the 7 different wax/compounding/sealant products I opened once and never used again, because I paid someone to do it? Or the 32 engine raw water zincs? I mean, you never know when you are going to need a spare, emergency repair, raw water zinc.

Or 5 extension cords...

Or the 9 different size/types of bolts I bought to redo the radar dome mount?

I didn't come here to be made sport of

Yendor and my punctuation . Me sad

If you’re like me, it would be 7.5 pairs of socks, likely 6 different colors…., 12 plain white undershirts, and nearly new underwear I can’t fit into anymore because I consumed too many wings and fries over the summer.

... I really need to mount a bin in the bilge to hold my tools and fluids. I am just afraid to run screws into the hull in the bilge. I just don't know how thick the fiberglass is there.

Glass in a piece of ply or starboard and then you have something to screw in too. If you do that you can also put blind nuts in with predrilled holes.

I've created a spreadsheet with all the stuff/spares/parts/tools, etc, with their storage location on the boat. Before I did that, I would go look for "x", couldn't find it, go buy another one, now have 2 "x" and still can't find either of them!

Jaybeaux

So you can find the spread sheet? :p

I am going to take all the life jackets off the boat and hang them in the garage. Next season, we will stop by the garage as we go to the boat and have everyone that is going out that day pick one that fits them. We will leave 6 on the boat for me, the admiral, our 2 boy and their SOs. Visitor's jackets will go back in the garage. I do NOT need the 20ish life jackets we have on the boat now.

I got a mahogany serving tray, beautiful, with picture on it that Jeeves would use to serve fine china tea to guests. Under the galley sink. Dafuq ever gonna do with that?

Have Jeeves server you a drink. :p

I have life jackets on my boat from kids that they grew out of 6 years ago

It's in some convoluted directory naming convention either on my laptop or in the Cloud. My biggest hope is that I haven't looked at too many spreadsheets lately so it is in the recent list when I open Excel!

Thank God for Recents

I am good on tools, fluids and spare parts. But I have other storage issues. We haven't cleaned out our ski locker in years. i still have skis and a wake board that are for kids under 100 pounds. My "kids" are 29 and 27. We haven't used either of those for at least 10 years. We also have a bin with at least 100 can koozies. We have never had more than 18 people on our boat. We also have at least 6 bottles of vinyl cleaner and a couple bottles of fiberglass cleaner. In the past it has been a PITA to clean out the boat because everything had to go in the car and directly home. We didn't have a place in our condo for it. Now that we have a garage at the lake about 100 yards from the marina, we can empty everything into that garage and sort through it over the winter. Hopefully we can eliminate half the crap we have in there.

What could go wrong?

That's funny, I had a friend that drilled through the bottom of his boat and panicked. He had the boat emergency hauled and fixed. He didn't tell anyone until afterwards. I told him he should just put a SS screw in it until the winter when he gets hauled out. People do the dumbest things at times.

I've been hauling a crock pot all over Lake Michigan for 6 years and it has yet to be used....not even once.

The one time I moved it to the back of my truck to discretely take it home, I got caught red handed.

When ever we do a group outing, the admiral cooks scrambled eggs for usually 25+ people.
If that crock pot ever got removed from the boat, I have no doubt in my mind those people would probably attempt to drown me.

If you ever find yourself on Lake Michigan let's meet up, I'll float mine over to you with a six pack inside as a thank you. :)
