A Dog. You say you have one? Lets see...

This is Cody! I can never get him out of the water once he goes in. We're rarely apart ever.

Best dog known to mankind, our Kerry blue terrier” Dublin” This guy is now 11 years old and thinks he’s 2, other than some skin allergies and hating boats, he’s the best family dog either of us have had the pleasure of having in our homes. this guy is almost human, he knows exactly what we ask, of him never fed human food and always grain free. Kerry blues are so intelligent you need to test them to keep ‘‘em happy so we have puzzles for him and he has cracked them within minutes. He gets bored with regular dog life and needs to live a humans life.
he has never chewed furniture, socks, etc. my wife has successfully trained him as if Caesar Milan where in our home . We love him only problem is he hates the boats.

We have a couple of golden doodles. This is from last fall. The lighter one (Buddy) is 9 years old now he is 2/3 poodle and is only 45lbs. His "brother from another mother" (Alf) was about 5 months in that picture and he's 50/50 poodle retriever and will be about 60lbs grown. I think the little one is going to add a few years to the old one's life. Both of them love the water. Great breed. Smart, energetic, but not too much. Don't really shed, but you have to sheer them down a few times a year.

Ha, I used to pull chunks of hair off of my Akitas, they called it blowing.
I had a Giant Schnauzer, what they call American Coated. He wasn't a shedding problem but had lots and lots of hair, very fine undercoat. You had to brush him daily or he'd get matted up. He didn't get along with most groomers so I ended up doing it. I'd leave him grow out for the winter and shear him clean for the summer.

My daughter wanted to make yarn out of his hair so for years I saved it from the daily brushing and grooming. We've got many large trashbags packed full of hair that someday will be sent out to be processed.

Here's our 2 idiots with the standard "I didnt do it" routine.....the jury is still out if they can come to the boat, cuz they dont shut up lol. I still love them to death tho. The bottom one is blind since birth.

9 year old Pomeranians.

Up until '18 we had three labs, Sandy, Butter, and LB. All were 13-15 yrs old. Sandy passed in Oct of '18. Kids got Marley as a Mothers Day gift in '19 to "replace" as the only female. Butter passed in Oct of '19 and then LB passed in Oct of '20. For three years every October. Now it't just Marley amd visits from the kids dogs, Sadie, a yellow lab and Bently a mini poodle. Dogs have been a part of our lives since we were kids, gotta have a dog around me.

Man I don't know how you guys with the long haired dogs do it. I could barely keep my wife sane when we had a lab in our home (loved that dog). But even a non-shedding dog is almost too much on a boat! :):)
A buddy of mine that had a 560DB before (JackieJV on here) has/had 5 dogs that they take on board with them. One has since passed. Three of them were Aussie Shepherds. Big hairy, very active dogs that shed huge amounts. The other two were small. When we would anchor out in coves it was quite the process to shuffle the dogs to shore with the dinghy to do their business. Paul sold the 560 4 years ago at least, and I will bet the new owners are still cleaning up the hair on that boat.

My Daughter's Huskies. Two wasn't enough so she just got a third puppy...

Luna is the white/grey girl. Jett is the black male and Nova is the 9 week old puppy.

One time we took Jett on a trip to Milwaukee. Got a starboard side dock... normally dock on the port side. My grandson wanted to bring Jett up on the bridge where my daughter and I were sitting. He opened the salon door and said "Come on Jett, Let's go"! Well, that phrase is what my daughter used when she would take Jett for a walk and potty. Jett dutifully bounded up and over the port side only to realize in mid leap that was no dock there only water... Comedy then ensued...

I could be wrong, but I think you posted that story before.
