88 Days and counting

It will depend on the weather in March for me... If it is nice, I'll have her all ready to go on April 1st. If the weather in March stinks, it maye be a week or so afterwards.

Wow! Only 72 days left. I better get to the 3 rooms that need painting done asap...

The weather in early April stinks. If it isn't snowing, there's 18 foot waves on the lake and 3 foot waves in the marina.

It's the same in Wisconsin - although April 30 may work this year!

I am scheduled for April 1st, but we will see what the weather is doing. I was one of the last to get pulled which means I'm in the front of the line to come out! Hoping for a great spring!!

:smt043:smt043:smt043:smt043I was just about to say..."isn't this the spot in these threads where "2KWinging it" usually jumps in and tells all of us cold weather folks that he's enjoying his boat and.... BAM!! It's Humph! (AKA 2KWingingit) Thanks Hump. You never let us down. April 9 over here in cold New Jersey.

March 31st, same as last year, i like it early because it gives me time to do my little projects on board before the admiral steps aboard, i figure we'll be cruising about the 15th april:smt038

Marshall......the bottom was great. My marina is way up river from Long Island Sound so the boat is in brackish water.

April 16th unless I go with the Zyrex bottom painting and the new FleXiteek for her as well. Maybe the 17th??

I was thinking about soda blast , barrier coat and paint to get the bottom in shape. Then keeping the boat in through next winter. Any tips or thoughts, advantages/disadvantages you can think of to share?

What is Zyrex?

Russ,

Just as long as I am prepared I will always leave my boat in the water over the winter. Fresh bottom paint, shrink wrap, and a solid bubbler system. I have read that it is better for the boat to stay in the water and try to avoid as many lifts as possible to keep the stress off the boat. I have electric so my heater keeps me warm while I tinker. I am redoing the headliner and floor as we speak. It is also cheaper for me to leave it in the water. Not to mention it is fun to play some poker and have some cold ones while the boat is in the water rather then sitting in it while it is on the hard! Take care.
