87 300 Sedan Bridge Project

someone broke into the boat yesterday. its still at the yard i got it from till it goes back in the water. I have the cabin door locked so they went on the bow and pulled on the hatch till it opened. i dont really have anything of value in the boat and im not installing anything now until its safe and sound in my slip. so far i haven't found anything missing but its still a bummer

Sorry to hear that, did they damage the hatch?

Sorry to hear that man! Hope nothing is damaged. Although I know it makes you feel insecure, that's for sure.

What is the head room in the cabins.

I am 5'10" and can stand upright in both areas. The main saloon, galley area is no problem. I probably only have about 1" or so of clearance in the forward berth. I would guess just shy of 6' clearance in there.

Someone else may be able to give you more exact measurements.

the only thing broke was a $30 handle for the hatch thank god

Oh, man sorry to hear about your break in. Always a bad time with this sort of thing happening. Best of luck and am anxious to see more of your progress...when its safe.

Sweet, I am thinking of getting one of those with my West Marine rewards points later this summer. I have heard lots of great reviews on them.

Ive only messed around with it a little around the house. All I can say for the price/money its an amazing little camera with great quality

I went to the boat yesterday and did some pressure checks on my heat exchangers and it looks like the port exchanger is bad. Tomorrow im going to take it to a local radiator shop to have it fixed it will most likely cost around $100

I also found a small leak inside my closet in the v berth man my list is adding up

And my quote came back for my bridge enclosure $1600:wow: for 8 panels to enclose the bridge. this is the same place that did my buddy's cockpit cover last year they did a great job and it looks great. After getting quotes anywhere from $2500-$4000 for the same job I jumped on that price. Only downside is hes booked till May

Good price on the canvas......

glad to see it coming together for you. Look at the rail bolts, nav light and cleat bolts in the closet for your leak. I ripped everything up and resealed everything.with 5200

ive been working on the boat all week but its not really picture worthy stuff just took my heat exchanger off and took it to the shop to get fixed and doing some more wiring but this weekend i need to take off the rub rail and re calk the seem underneath so ill make sure to get some good pictures of that

Hi OP. I would recaulk evrything just like Akbassking mentioned. You'll need to remove the carpeting/hullliner in order to get at the nav lights etc. One other thing that I had done - after my new hullliner was ruined and had to be re-replaced because of rainwater leaking/ migrating through from the anchor locker - was to replace the flimsy v-berth forward bulkhead with a completely water tight fiberglass bulkhead with a watertight hatch to acess the anchor locker. Now the v-berth is absolutely dry and I have a solid wall between our heads and the stinky anchor locker.

Mmm Good point. I replaced my bulkhead with starboard, but did not make it water tight. Wonder if fiberglass will stick to starboard? I trashed my windlass and also put a water tight hatch in its place. Still have some work to do in the V-Berth as far as trim and such.

big progress on the boat today we took off the rubrail resealed it and reinstalled it. We also removed and resealed the bow rails nav lights and cleats
also took off the old stripes and the old boat name to prepare for new ones
