58 Sedan Bridge Official Thread

Searchlight.....I would like to replace the control pad (which on mine is up top by the MAN screens). I have never been a fan of the old brown wheel-style and prefer toggles. Looks like ACR makes a model that is newer with toggles, but they almost all are advertised as being (exclusively?) for the RCL-95 LED model. Has anyone replaced/updated theirs, and if so, was it a simple swap?

Hello, I de winterized this weekend and fount these filters located in the heat pump line after the sea cock and before the sea strainer. I was having trouble getting prime and took one off and it seemed to be clear but when I reinstalled I mistakenly put it on backwards and absolutely wouldn't prime, took it back off and turned around and got prime. I feel like I have a flow issue with the 2 rear pumps. The pump that services the forward stateroom doesn't have one of these filters or at least I don't think it does. They say Spectra Watermakers on them....... Was wondering if you have them on your boat.

I do not have those. My water maker comes off the seacock and goes directly into the water maker system.
Thanks for the reply, I don't have a water maker, I think this may be a modification but not sure. Do you have 3 pumps for the 5 A/C units. Also, I called Sea Ray yesterday and they referred me to a dealer for technical assistance.......

I have 1 pump for the bridge A/C and 2 pumps in parallel for the 4 stateroom A/C’s - one pump is a spare and is normally not used. It was added prior to a Bahamas trip as a backup.

I believe stock setup would be one pump for bridge air on port side and a bigger pump on starboard that feeds a manifold to each interior unit. That’s how mine is setup. I like the backup pump idea that Carter referenced, but I think it may be easier to carry a spare in the box ready to go. I was in a pinch one time waiting for overnight delivery of a replacement main pump. I adapted a fitting on the shoreside water supply and let that feed the AC’s all night. Not ideal, and a waste of water, but with no openable windows, it was necessary.

Well, Spectra does make watermakers, and that's how your filters are labeled... Maybe the boat had a watermaker at some time in its prior life?

Sea Ray started doing that over these last couple years. And then you're at the mercy of a local dealer who may or may not have a clue.

That's how ours is set up. Also that's as illustrated in the Parts Manual.

Thanks to all the response, I'm gonna reach out to Spectra to see if the can shed any light on this... keep you posted.

Has anyone added a 110 outlet on the port side of the master bed? Wondering where is easiest to add one and where to tap into for power. Thanks.

The bed sits starboard to port so it would be bow or stern side of the bed. I added one on the stern side of the bed. I used the feed from the Bose system than was under the bed.

Hello and I purchased our boat last season and it is equipped with an aqua whisper water maker. Sorry pic attached isn’t the best, and wondering how this works, we are in fresh water but if I take a trip and stay on the hook for a week or two I’d love to have an endless supply of water.
Thank you

I'd like some help from those of you that have gone through this.....name placement/size on the transom.

Trying to figure out whether to keep the boat name within the door...or to allow it to be bigger and to bleed outside of the door footprint. So, looking for thoughts on whether to 1) stay within or go big and bleed out and 2) whether the name should be centered on the exposed/solid/non-door transom (name printed slightly to port of center) or to keep it centered (on the whole boat including the door and not just the exposed transom), regardless of size.

Opinions welcomed.

I am especially interested in hearing if you did it one way and regretted it and feel you should have done something differently.

Here is the current mock-up, using the "stay small and stay on the door" philosophy.

Mine fits on the door, but my name is only six letters. I don’t have a very good picture, you’ll have to enlarge it to look at this one.

My last boat, went across the transom door with no problem at all.

Chris what did you pay for it? They quoted my over 4K when I called a couple years ago. So I disassembled it and had a local metal company create the broken latch for me. Under $100 and it's like new.
