Cherman, thanks for the help. Yes, I do have AC under the dash that is factory install on '03. Where exactly would be the fuse panel... under the dash on starboard wall? Thanks for the help.

Dave

Dave, If your AC unit is in the small hatch door on the STBD. side of the dash. Where mine is. Then my fuse panel is hidden in front of the AC unit on the forward wall of the dash/console. Nearly impossible to see. Don't know if 03 is the same way.

Chris

On an '03, there's another fuse panel in the middle access door under the dash. To the left of the door that gets you access to the A/C unit filter.

I think it's for lighting and instruments, there might be a reset there for the stereo also.

Dave, Here are some pics of the fuse panels Quality time and I mentioned. Also a pic of the connector plugs and me showing one of the ones I spliced out. The stereo breaker on the small breaker panel that QT mentioned is not the power source for mine. BUT my stereo is not the original that came with the boat. Excuse the mess, still working under the dash before reinstalling the AC.

Here's a pic with the hatches out. Not the best pic, will take a better one next time down to boat.
Can't figure out how to rotate pic in CSR. Keeps coming out this way even when stored in upright position.

Cherman- Thanks for taking the time to snap photos. This helps a lot. Will need to dig into this next time I'm down at the boat. Getting more snow today. Will need to bring the shovel next time I go out. Thanks, again. Dave

I would like to get stereo to the bow area of the boat for the admiral and kids when they are sun bathing. Anybody ever expand their system to cover this area? Thinking waterproof speakers on the hardtop. Then I can use when on the hook as well.

I know this is a different boat, but a previous owner added them to my 400DB. He ran RCA cord from the head units "front" output to an amp mounted under the helm, as well as the remote turn-on wire for the amp. Then ran speaker wire through the back of the helm to the speakers. He powered the amp from an extra connector on the 12v fuse strip under the helm. The speakers are just cheap outdoor units bolted to those plastic enclosures in the picture. But sounds good enough for us. Funny, I have been asked if they are air intakes for the engines. Ha!

ZZ, that is an interesting way to mount...but I like it. I will save your info. Anyone else with different thoughts/ideas?

Hey QT,

I have them on my hardtop for the forward sunning area. They work pretty good, and they are tied into the bridge amp. I have a separate volume control for them as well.

DC, If you have any pictures, I would like to see them. Are they pointed downward to direct the sound forward and down from the hardtop? Boltman- I have been using portable and that works great at cocktail speed, but I would love to really crank it up when out on the hook and swimming away from the boat. Or just to drive my Harbor Master crazy :)

I have a picture, but wont allow me to upload it. What's the site that allows the pics?

Here's something special , windshield leaked in two places this summer , now in heated storage they can't get it to leak at all . Going to take off pillar interior covers to see if they can see where's it's been coming from.

Been a 2002 48DB owner for a year now. Love the boat and info. on this site. Upgrading the amp (under helm) and speakers this Spring. Has anyone pulled out that factory clarion amp and have any tricks to access it. Mine is buried on the front wall of the helm, barely accessible from behind the breaker panel door. Also is that amp powered thru the stereo breaker on that door, or somewhere else. Thank you.
