My boat was ok but were I am for winter (manasquan river club) had about 3' water throughout. Boats in front yard all floated off blocks friends boat totaled. I luckily am in rear yard.Marina has no power.Went down on Veterans day retied my Fisher tarp.(Glad we have no drain plug).Next year will be hard on a lot of boaters.

It has been a busy Fall Russ. I have had Yacht Club Drama which has kept me away from the boat for the past few months. We are in the process of moving her to a boathouse and joining a new club. Who needs the BS?

The engine room fun begins soon after the move. Change all the fluids and clean the engine room. No major repairs needed or upgrades occurring. I do have the intention of adding a small 6-9 bottle wine refrigerator where the salon TV used to be located. Then a glass holder in the far forward starboard cabinet for our Reidel glassware. (Can't drink nice wine form plastic!)
I'll post some photos after the project is completed. Merry Christmas to all!

Sorry to hear about the trouble. I look forward to seeing pics of your project and Merry Christmas to you!

I know, so tragic. I am glad to hear your boat made it ok. My heart goes out to all the victims of Sandy.

Russ you saved that boat by taking to CT. Where you got your boat there was 4 feet of water on land.

You know, I never thought of it but your right. I am friends now with the PO, he told me what happened to his house down there and this boat was right out in front. Wow, crazy. How did you make out?

I am at Baywood 1 mile south of Mantolking bridge back by tree line on bay there was at 10 foot tidal wave that came in. Back were i am it was 6to7 feet and knocked every thing off stands up to 27 feet tide was 2 feet above top of pilings my boat was in water not a scrach on it ropes 3 on each pole 5/8 braded streched out. Water before surge was down 3.5 feet and when was done came up 9 feet in less than 1 hour normal tide change is 1.5 feet.

Amazing!

Hi guys. With all the damage done by Sandy, I thought maybe I could share my story to get people's mind off all that destruction.
I live in Australia and have been looking for a 460 for just over twelve months now. They are very expensive over here so the option to import one was always going to be a good option. After reading fellow Ozzie Rob's story (Sea Ray SSS 1993 63 ft) on here, I thought I should add mine. Rob has been a great help and guidance to me over the last few months to which I am eternally grateful.
So the latest to the story is that I am now the proud owner of a 2001 460DA! She is currently located in Croatia, Europe and due to be shipped to Sydney on the 10th January. Even with the $50K shipping charge, I will still be ahead by about $100K!! A worthwhile project.
If you guys are interested, I am more than willing to share the experience, although I doubt I will be such a prolific poster as Rob.

Regards Al.

Congrats on the purchase of your new yacht, Rob. We're looking forward to your overall experience with the purchase process, transportation and the projects you'll be doing on the boat. Good luck getting her safely home.

Welcome to the 460 Club Al! You will love this boat! Ask away with any questions you might have! Enjoy!

No, but I look forward to other replies, detailing the difficulty and what parts are needed.

I suspect you have the same Vetus Series 80 B/T as my 450EB. The series 80 comes with two different tailpieces. On one the zinc just simply bolts to the bottom of the housing. On the other the zinc is mounted behind the propeller. Mine is the latter. Fortunately, my diver has the hands of a surgeon, rather than a linebacker, and is able to replace my zincs. I am amazed that he can reach into the tunnel and remove/replace the small screws considering the boats movement, current, limited space and viability. On the hard or in the slings the job is straight forward.

Boatzincs.com carry both types.

Good luck, Art

Russ, I don't remember 100% but I think mine is Vetus either #75 or #80. The zinc looks the same.
