420 DA Thread

I have a design in the works and will share if it works out.

Anyone know if the 420DA is prewired for underwater lights?

I posted this in the repair forum but maybe another 420 owner has seen this. During the winter my boat was stored in an indoor heated building. After launching it I noticed some dull spots on the wood table top in the salon. There are five spots, 2 -3 inches in diameter. It looks cloudy and milky white, like when you breathe on a mirror. Household cleaners did not remove it. Has anyone else had this problem?

My engine room ladder doesn't have a support or hook to keep it elevated when I have to get down between the engines. Am I missing something? Does anyone else's 420/44 DA have a support for the ladder?

Nothing could have dripped on the table because it was covered during lay up. The previous owner had a vinyl cover with a foam backing made for the table. I wonder if it is mold or mildew. I may try bleach diluted with water. If that doesn't work I wonder if it would polish out with my Porter-Cable. My ladder does not have any way hold it in the up position. There are two pins that the ladder is hinged on. You can pull them out to remove it completely which I have done in the past like when I had to replace my bow thruster batteries.

My salon table is very glossy. Just be careful not to destroy or scuff the entire surface if yours is too. Maybe you can look under it/research the manufacturers name and ask them for guidance.

So, I've got very very low water pressure in the galley sink. Every other water source is adequate. Anyone have this issue or any suggestions?

I had that problem last year. There is a plastic quick disconnect for the Grohe faucet that the flexible hose is attached to. It will be orange or yellow in color. I called Grohe customer service and they recommended the yellow one. Look under the sink. It is threaded onto the base of the faucet and the flexible hose for the faucet has a fitting that pushes into the quick disconnect. Try removing that plastic fitting and cleaning it first. They cost about $35.00.

Also be sure to take the faucet head apart and clean that out.

Guys ,
Needa favor . Another unfinished project. Im looking for high resolution profile pics of any 44 DA with a hardtop. NEeds to be high resolution. Trying to have jackets made and the Guy says my pics suck in plain terms . Hull color doesn't matter they can change that ...

ANd yes its another unfinished project

Brewster,
I purchased a Velcro strap and screwed it to the top of the hatch. I lft the ladder and Velcro it in place . Hasn't wacked yet in 8 years.

I also made a starboard platform to lock in my ladder so it doesn't rattle . Yea I got issues ! Worked really well. Also bout a Rubbermaid tube for between the stringers and the motor to store my spare filters, belts and oil in. MAn im giving up all my secrets today. If u want pics just email me ( first @nyc.rr.com ) ill send yea what ever u need

Rob

I use milk crates for storage down there. I also added some extra LED lights on the hatch so when it's up they shine down into the engine room.

Yes, milk crates are a good idea for storage. But, what do you do to hold the ladder up and out of the way when your down in the engine room? I'll try bungee cords I guess. It's hard to believe there is not a hook or support of any kind.

Does anyone here have a Bluetooth wireless connection on their clarion cmd5 head unit? I would like to wirelessly play the music on my IPod through the boat sounsystem. What hardware do I need and how to make it happen? Thanks.
